Grand Central details on Lexington Avenue

I posted some shots of some of the detail outside grand Central on 42nd Street and a couple of people asked to see some more of the Cool detail on the building, so this post will show some of the building detail on Lexington Avenue.

This is an Eagle Statue overlooking Lexington Ave, it is one of the original, is one of the many Eagles that used to be atop the original Grand Central terminal, which was demolished in 1902 prior to the building of the new Grand Central Terminal, when the building was demolished many of the eagles were sold to private owners, however two found there way back to the Current Grand Central,
To give you a sense of their size the wingspan is 13 feet and it weighs over 4,000 pounds.

There are so many Flag poles proudly flying the flag all around NYC, but this is one of the more ornate ones in my Opinion with the cool intricate detail around the base

Now this entrance may not be so grand and ornate but is still fairly cool and has some interesting detail

Such as these supports for one of the covers over one of the entrances, don't they have such cool detail.

And finishing off with these rats, which were in the creative artsy edit shot I shared above but I thought they were worthy of a shot of their own,

Yes they are rats climbing up those supports, I believe they are related to the history of ships coming into NYC.
