This is one of the entrances to the 72St Subway Station up on 7th Ave I thought this station has quite a bit of character

Here is another of the entrances, I went for a more gritty edit than I usually do with this shot it just seemed to work with this image to me.

This station was opened in 1904, so it has been around quite a while and is lasting well.

Some of the Subway Stations in NYC look so much like others but some have quite a bit of style whether its the above ground Entrance like for this station or the Art in the station underground, so this will be the first of a series I do of some of the cool Subway Stations in NYC

I’m blaming you if I ever go to visit this concrete jungle in person. Hopefully, with enough photos, I just won’t need to as I will have seen anything worth seeing!

It is outstanding how out of place that building looks as if everything around is weeded blocking the sunlight in to let grow.

At least that building has some attitude to make up for it. I would have never expected the other entrance to have such a different taste in style. I do favor the first one it seems more elegant and not trying to be so edgy.

I am however very jealous of the underground subway system you guys have. Wishing more of the nation could go that route. Sadly the train infrastructure everywhere else is a disappointment. I would never go into our above ground “SunRail” it seems to hit a lot of parked cars and other things…

Your comments are always so supportive and interesting and are truly appreciated my friend

the Subway here is very efficient for the most part, but at peak you can feel like your a sardine LOL

I want to say it’s Japan but I’m not 100% sure. They have people who assist in cramming everyone in! Now that puts sardine to a whole new level.

Comments are my favorite part of Steemit. Sometimes I even forget about my own blog -oops.

Yes I have seen that in Movies and documentaries of Japan, I would hate to go on one of those subways LOL

That is a pretty nice shot. This quaint building surrounded by all the high rises.

Cool stuff we take for granted.

good point i wonder how many go through this station each day and barely know what the station looks like

Brings back memories of a great vacation in NYC with my daughter. Somewhere I have a photo of her standing just at the entrance. 😊
The second one suits the edit.

Thanks it is a very cool station

Cool that you saw and got shots with your daughter of this station

I like to two contrasting entrances. The original old brick and architecture on one side, and the more modern glass and steel on the other. Two different eras, but in both still performing the same function of being a humble subway station with tall buildings towering over it on all sides.

So well described and fits how I felt when I saw this as well

Thanks tip!

I really like the grey skies in the background with the big buildings against it

Thanks it was a grey day so that lead Yo this style of edit

Both pictures have their own beauty about them. I'm not sure which one I like more. :D

I kept changing ng my morning Nd over which one I preferred as well still I cannot decide

The first one looks similar to the Alamo. What a nice design choice to make the stations unique.

I approve of you grittier approach, by the way. It adds a lot to the feel of the photo.

It does I haven’t seen the Alamo in person

Thanks

Ohh yes for sure I see the similarities I wonder if the designers intended that

Seems like that was the intention but I couldn't find any information on that.

No me either and I was just searching 😎
