Ozeanium tour 2020@tasrin94
Ozeaneum is a publicly owned aquarium in Stralsund, Germany. It is a main attraction of the German Oceanographic Museum, probably one of the three biggest institutions of this kind in Europe. The Ozeaneum, situated in the historical port of Stralsund on the Baltic coast, opened in July 2008.
Largest tank volume: 2600000 L (690000 USG)
Today I will share My experience about Ozeaneum.
The Ozeaneum is divided into exhibitions and seawater aquariums. But first things first. As soon as we enter the futuristic building, a real whale skeleton towers over us. The escalator with its 34m is as long as a blue whale. That's a good start.
A slightly different start at Ozeaneum :
The start is unfortunately a little disappointing at first, because the exhibition with plastic replicas of fish and animals from the North Sea and Baltic Sea welcomes us in the first hall.
The joy increases again abruptly as we follow the red thread on the floor and land in the first aquarium hall. What an experience! the children jump from one pool to the next – are very enthusiastic about the fish that swim right by. Crayfish, jellyfish, crabs frolic in the dim light. All fish from the domestic Baltic Sea.
It always alternates: exhibition and aquarium. We quickly leave the exhibition about the deep sea behind us. The children prefer to see real animals again.
Let's go to the open Atlantic:
Now it's happening in quick succession. We marvel at the absolutely largest aquarium in the Ozeaneum with a capacity of 2.6 million litres. Everything revolves around an old shipwreck in the middle. Schools of mackerel circle while small sharks swim around on the bottom. Everywhere there is movement, everywhere there is something to look at, everywhere it bustles in dim blue light
The children are amazed and want to be very close. The scenery is really impressive. Just for this pool the visit was worthwhile.
With the Humboldt penguins:
at the top, the outdoor pool of the Humboldt Penguins awaits . This sweet animals stretch their necks towards the sun and swim their laps in the pool. The view from here is awesome, especially when the penguins look at the skyline with you. When the weather is nice, this is the best place in the Ozeanum for a break.
Giants of the Sea: -
Lie down, open your eyes and just listen
Then We descend again into the largest hall with the biggest "WOW" effect. Above us hang 1:1 blue whales, orcas and other deep-sea animals. Below us a circle with wooden loungers.
Before we exit, we get stuck in the cinema. After a few short films we leave the Ozeaneum and talk for a long time about the experiences.
