Tired Of Spam Comments??? A Chrome Extension That Instantly Blocks It!!!!
We all experienced those accounts who post a spam comment on our posts within 2.2 seconds of the post going up. These comments provide no value and only serve to clutter up the comment section.
The only way to deal with this is to downvote the comment so that it goes invisible...until now.
I just found a post put up by @andybets which introduced a Chrome extension that blocks it.
After downloading it, I tried it and it is really simple.
As highlighted here, the extension shows up in the upper right of Chrome with the Steem logo.
You simply press it on an article to activate it.
Also, you can see a post that is now faded out.
Another feature is when you hover over the user name, you get the spam information.
Here is a screen shot of one who is not a spammer.
This is just being introduced so I am sure there will be updates to it. There is a settings for "options" which is grayed out at the moment. I would imagine we will be able to change the spam percentage which fades a comment out.
I find this to be a wonderful addition to the STEEM blockchain and suggest all Chrome users to try it out. It appears to be a great way to fight some of the spam in the comment section.

I fully expect the spammers to up their game now to try and get around this new "evil" extension. LOL And so begins the cat and mouse game.
Great this is the best idea to ignore some spam comments .....
I don’t have any problems with spam on my comments, but I’d like to think I’ll become big enough on Steemit to the point one day where this might be a problem! This might come in handy for me one day! Thanks, taskmaster!
I already got that problem on my let's play account, likely because I upvoted comments of people in my videos. I dare to claim that from 100 to 150 I must have made 1-2 real followers and rest were being bots spamming comments. It has eased up by now, and I have been slightly more carefull with what comments I upvote.
This is really awesome! Spam comments are already pretty much a problem, but just think how many will spam when there's millions of users on this platform. An extension like this is just what we need!

I think this will be one of the most important quality of life improvements in the following years. Great idea on the part of the creator.
I on the other hand like spam comments because it is easy to tell it is spam I just go over their comment history and if I see a pattern then off I go to Steemcleaners for a report :)

Looks as if someone is flagging them so they get hidden somehow.
