Today was the First Annual Steem Meetup Finland Edition, which was held in Tampere and included a lovely group of people, most of which I have met earlier. Attendees included: @markkujantunen, @celestal, @eveuncovered, @insaneworks, @momone and a special guest appearance by @smallsteps.

Since not everyone likes to have pictures of themselves spread over the internet (Eve excluded), these are some images that I took while we walked and talked the good, the bad and the ugly that is Steem.

It was great to be able to have some time talking the nonsense that no one else really understands and have people nod with some level of comprehension. Of course, we didn't just talk Steem stuff and we spent some time getting to know each other a little better too.

Tampere is not the most exciting city in Finland, and Finland is not the most exciting country around the world, but we still managed to have some laughs out there as we stumbled around the streets and along the lake shore. Autumn is in full swing here and it was a little nippy with the wind, but when the sun shone there was still a hint of warmth in the air.

We didn't really plan much other than a coffee meetup, a walk and a meal (or several meals in the case of @celestal) so we could just concentrate more on hanging out and taking it pretty easy. It was nice and relaxed and it was great to see Eve and Celestal again as the last time I saw them was at SteemFest in Poland almost a year ago.

It is always different meeting people in real life and off Steem and while I don't think that I am very different, I don't know if that is true. I do think at least that I am not that different, but the others can be the judge of that. It was also good that my wife was able to meet some more Steemians so that she understands that there actually are real people behind the weird names. She has met a few now and so far, most have been "pretty normal" :D

I am hoping that we can do this more often in the future as I feel that the more points of interaction we all have together, the more attractive the place becomes and, the stronger the relationships are. Remembering that while not a pure social media, this has many social elements and spending time together is not only good for building the community, but it makes it all a lot more fun.

Now though, I am pretty worn out and while we walked slowly, I still managed 15,000+ steps for the day and about 150,000+ words about Steem. Next time maybe we will do a live stream and have a panel discussion :)
