Do I make you bored baby, Do I?
Words, words everywhere but not a drop to think.
Someone pointed me to a blog the other day that posts announcing the current price of Bitcoin... Really?
Ok, so we might not all be professionals here but, we do somewhat have our own thoughts don't we? What sets our content apart from any other similar content, do we add anything of value that a reader can't get anywhere else? I wonder if people even enjoy reading their own content here. Give it a go, read your last week or two of posts and tell me.
There is a lot of generic, formulated, repetitive content I find and I think there are some cases and places that is fine but, where are people pushing any of their own personal boundaries? Where are they taking some risks?
I am by far not the best writer but I do feel like I am bringing the best I can at any given moment which includes, a lot of mistakes. So many of my posts have to come with some kind of disclaimer (especially the technical) to say, these are my views or, this might not be correct. A lot of my content is also not 'friend-winning' in many circles, especially among the higher echelons but, ethically I would be remiss if I didn't have a look at negatives also.
There tends to be a certain amount of dishonesty at higher levels, much like a management team that is not willing to admit to flaws and mistakes. The higher up in the food chain, the less likely criticism is to be presented of the system that feeds them. It would be nice to get some open and honest opinions from the most supported and influential members of the community. Wouldn't that be interesting to read?
In my experience, it is actually quite vital for higher ends to constantly review and reformulate their positions and even though not everything need be broadcast publicly, it is highly beneficial that some is. The problem is that it comes with personal risks and opens them up to a loss of income. Yesterday I wrote about advertising censorship and this is essentially the same issue.
Speak out against the party line pay the cost of ostracization. It is an invisible contract between individuals to make sure that no one steps on the toes of anyone else. And, as long as no one of consequence crosses the boundaries, ignorance can be bliss.
But again, this all make for a lot of boring reading doesn't it? The same diatribe spread by the same people day in day out and pushed across the network as if it is innovative and interesting. It is all very... one-dimensional. Engineered for ease of consumption not challenge of thought and it is being lapped up and supported to the ends of the world. Well, ends of the chain.
It is quite pathetic to see the mundane minds at work, minds that some people rely on to make this place better. How are they planning on being cutting edge if their thoughts are smack bang in the middle of the group average and the meat of their content can be understood from the title alone? Pushing boundaries? New frontiers? The future?
It is uncomfortable to do differently but that is what is needed to change the status quo everyone seems to complain about yet, unwilling to put their money where their mouth is. Or, their future earnings where their mouth is. You can't revolutionize the world by doing what every other man and his dog is doing.
This is actually a large problem with the support mechanisms based on group consensus as groups support average because, groups on average are average. And on average, average minds don't want to be challenged as it feels uncomfortable. Much like a school, consensus doesn't support brilliance, it supports mid-range averages that the majority can consume easily.
Perhaps I take it too seriously and should instead write meaningless motivational porn or, cheerleader chants for STEEM, cryptocurrencies or blockchain technology.
What do you think, what do you want to read about? What do you really want to write about?

Sadly enough, for us who prefer mind provoking content, that is exactly the content and quality which appeals to the vast masses. TMZ's website is more popular than Salon's. Go figure why.
PC World, probably one of the last worldwide sites one would visit to actually learn something about computing, is more popular than MajorGeeks.
I know what I want to read and, most of all, I know that is more often than not not what the vast masses want to read. It would cause them a headache to be made to think almost all day long.
Average minds make average decisions. Don't ask the audience.
You must be a liberal?? Speak out of party lines? I'm confused, isn't that what used to be the basis for intellectual conversation. I see the scary students on college campuses and wonder how the hell are they going to be able to pay for my social security?? The insanity of the brainwashed junior communistic fascist astounds me.
If that's the party line you that the cost of speaking out against is ostracization I say SPeAk OuT!!
There are only TwO GenDERS!!
Everyone is NoT a WiNNer!
My opinion is MY Opinion!! You can have you OwN!
Most important, people need to learn respect! First for themselves and then others.
Freedom is difficult to obtain, once you've lost it.
Intellectual conversation is dead.
I do not know hows you can feel someone who has been publishing for a while, but I think the things that we can visualize fill us with ideas and I am sure that their content shows ideas and a brand that makes it unique, the truth and I can not perceive myself if I am ever able to repeat some content but since we are all huamanos sometimes we learn things that make us look at a point where maybe we are failing and it is when the correction is made and the improvement is achieved.
excellent teacher publication tarazkp
You do what you're best at.
No need to change anything.
Keep up the good work
This system seems to be a great invention for self censorship 😉. I see many articles from people who are writing that they are glad that there is no censorship here, like on facebook, youtube..and so on. Then I look at their content because i'm curious what they have to say what would be censored elsewhere and i see .... nothing controversial - nothing critical, nothing they could not have said on the other platforms.
So my thoughts are that they might come here with big ideas and then understand that they have to speak after the mouth of the crowd, so as not to be flagged or avoided and to get upvotes.
And because of the fact that the culture of constructive controversy has been lost, not much people dare to write from their heart and mind.
I agree with everything you've said @psionic-tremors. But just that last sentence I've selected in the quote, looks like its a trend of worsening around these days unfortunately.
For controversy's sake... I think people should dress themselves in pink more often!! }:)
And certainly, we should be more irreverents acting with way more dareful freedom through 'controversial things'
Yes it's worsening and it's amongst other things the result of our education these days - you have to be politcal correct - one must not say anything against other cultures - nothing against stupid traditions - oh, not forgetting the new trend with the gender neutrality and so on. Furthermore we live in times where everybody knows he is somehow watched through cameras that hang everywhere - through their own smartphones - even over the television with microphone and camera - George Orwell let's greet 😉...but hell yeah ..let's wear pink and slide into the mud 😃
