BW Photo Contest - Travel - Entry 1 - The overseer

I have an aversion to authority. I do not think that this comes as a surprise to those that often read my posts. This aversion is not because I am a rebel nor that I want to seize power for myself by undermining those in the positions currently. This aversion is due to a pull towards independence rather than being repelled from centralization.

For as long as I can remember, I have always put more faith in myself and my own skills than those around me even when I know that my skills are in a lesser position. There is a simple reason for this as what I have found is that when push comes to shove, we are all alone. Yes, it is possible at times to seek support from others but, there are also times that this is impossible and we must act for ourselves completely autonomously.

With the level of control that governments and corporations have over us and the connections we have possible at this time, we rarely get to act independently with no safety net or artificial restraint. The safety net is useful, the artificial restraints are not as they pull us inwards from where we could be and what we could be doing.

Sometimes people mistakenly think that independence means the life of a hermit. How I see it is a lack of reliance on external systems unless by choice. An independent person in my view can still cooperate, still choose to place their trust in another but, they are not forced to do so by an authority figure which demands adherence to a code or else support is withdrawn.

I have ever so slowly been inching away from the concepts of control which were imposed upon me from childhood through parental figures, governments and all manner of social norms and I may be unlikely to ever be free. However, the largest shifts have been the slow unchaining of my mind which tied me to certain position.

Steemit has been a quickening of sorts of this process as within a decentralized community, like minds on a similar journey and willing to discuss experience and possibility are easier to find. I think as a whole, this community could push independence of the individual much further and much wider than attempts from various academics and philosophers have done in the past. Their lessons will likely drive through the community and a swell will push out from the multitude of pebbles thrown into the pool.

It is going to be an interesting journey that is going to raise some very important societal questions in the days to come. Small movements create revolutions.

I do not think I need name this location but just in case it is confused for Tokyo or Las Vegas. It is shot from Montmartre across the rooftops that is the sprawling city of Paris and despite protests has become a beacon of strength for many. Considering the steel and rivets of the construction, it is a beautiful structure and from up close curves serenely into the skies. If one has a chance, wait in line to ascend and take in a glorious view of the city of love. But more importantly than seeing it from only afar, slowly walk the streets and absorb the beautiful details of the city that are exposed for those that are willing to take the time to see.

Love the shot! It's beautiful and powerful photo!

As for the article, I agree with you 100%, but since I've been on steemit for quite some time now, it's not as decentralised as I had hoped, but then again it's very hard in today's society to have a truly decentralised organisation/country/platform, which I had expected. Hope and expectations are different I guess. And this is just a reflection of the blockchain, I don't think anything is gonna be truly 100% decentralised anytime soon, but I think there's always hope.

Yes, I agree but is these small moves that will add up in time. The full shift to decentralisation will take some time I think.

Yes, I agree. It's gonna be great when that happens.

Hello and welcome, I am also new to the site like you, follow me @elad1982 and vote together we can succeed
Good luck

Buddy, before cut and pasting your comment here for the hundredth time, do a little research first.

Firstly, you may notice that next to the name there is a little number. That is the reputation and comes from upvotes on content and builds over time. For example, next to your name is a 31, next to mine is 67. What can be loosely inferred by this is the age of the membership.

Also, try reading the article you are going ro comment on itself. It will also hint at whether the cut and paste comment you have chosen is suitable.

Lastly, a reputation can be increased by upvotes or decreased by downvotes. If you were to downvote me, not much happens. If I were to downvote you, that is a different story. I have never downvoted anyone yet but these cut and paste comments are getting tiresome.

Yes, we can succeed together but not if you continue to approach the platform the way you are currently.

I'm tired seeing comments like this. Since @tarazkp isn't gonna flag it, I'm going to. Meaningless and repetitive comments need to stop.
