Wat Phra That Hariphunchai, a beautiful ancient temple in Lamphun province, in the North of Thailand
If you visit Chiang Mai, in the North of Thailand, I would suggest you to include Wat Phra That Hariphunchai in your visiting list, too.
Wat Phra That Hariphunchai is situated in Lamphun province which is very close to Chiang Mai. It is a beautiful ancient temple with Lanna architecture style, like most temples in the North of Thailand.
It’s a great place for you to spend time and walk comfortably in peaceful environment in large area. Besides, you will find yourself among lovely golden color of wonderful buildings while walking around as well.
Starting from Phra Viharn or the temple hall which will impress you at first sight. It looks splendid and has magnificent architecture; i.e. body of the building, its pillars and its roof with gorgeous Naga.
On the left side of Phra Viharn, you will see Chedi (pagoda) with pyramid shape. It’s very picturesque.
Another gorgeous temple hall.....
Another large Chedi is very great and marvelous in golden color, especially when it reflects the sunlight.
Below is a beautiful building, called “Ho Trai” which acted as “temple library”. The ground floor of the building was made of brick with red color and the second floor was made of wood with gorgeous carving.

Even though, you are not Buddhist, I think, you will enjoy the serenity as well as the beautiful buildings in this temple, for sure!

@tangmo, Very inspiring photo clicks you caught from these awesome temple. Thailand temple designs vert different than Sri Lankan designs. I can get extra imagine through your travel experience.

Lamphun is a very special province to have this Chedi with Buddha’ s relics! A holy place with beautiful architecture and long history! I would love to visit this temple to pay respect to sacred Buddha’s relics.

Yeah! You are right! "A holy place with beautiful architecture and long history" indeed. If you visit your friends in Chiang Mai, you may visit this temple as well because it's very close to Chiang Mai.

The temples are gorgeous works of art and there is so much gold. Even the temple library is beautiful. : )
