SEC-S10W3: Teamwork Makes The Dream Work

Hello guys, I bring you greetings from Lagos Nigeria. It is another beautiful week for the Steemit engagement challenge.

And this week's topic is an amazing one. We are writing on team work. Here is the contest post.

The benefits of team work cannot be over emphasized in a company or organization. Even in family, team work is very productive.

Team work is a situation whereby different individuals with different job experiences in same line of job, comes together to execute organization tasks in their various fields to achieve organization results.

The phrase "Team work makes the dream work" is talking about the efficiency of team work.

Team work is highly productive and effective.

Team Work is the combination of different skills from different individuals to get a desired result or reach a specific goal.

Nobody knows it all, even if we know lots of things, we still have specialists in different spheres.

Team work allows specialists in different spheres to collaborate and carry out different tasks for a specific goal.

This collaboration makes the job very easy because everyone would do what they know how to do best and within a specified period of time, the goal would be achieved.

So this is the meaning of team work makes the dream work.

Yes I have had the experience, when I was working with a tech organization before the covid. We had people of different skills, but we have just one goal.

The company Softnotch was a coding school and a tech company at the same time. We had tutors on different tech courses.

Then if we have any contracts, we all will function in our different capacities to get the job done.

The graphic designer will do all graphic designing work.

The ui/ux will focus on theirs, the front end developers will do theirs and the backends will do theirs.

Then the digital marketer will pick it up once these other technical works had been done.

At the end of the day, we all contribute to get a project done by carrying out our various skills, without stress.

There are a couple of challenges that comes with team work.

One of the major problems that team members encounter is poor communication.

I experienced it as well, some team members has poor communication skills and some lacks good manner of approach, especially when working under pressure.

If the other parties are not patient enough, things will go wrong due to miss understanding and poor communication.

Most times our job were done remotely, delivery time is always another issue.

We might be expecting a college to deliver his job at a particular time, and ignored and deliver at his own time.

There might also be a need for meeting, either physical or virtual, there would always be a clash of activities by one or two persons.

So it takes a lot of patience, self control and good manner of approach to work with a team.

Some team mates can be very stubborn. They wouldn't follow instructions as at when due and as given.

Some would do their own thing in contrary to the instruction given.

Some feels they are specialist in their field, so I know what to do.

Basically, humans generally are difficult to manage, so team work will teach you patience at some points.

Yes, it is 100% possible to achieve more in team work than individually.

This is because we don't know it all, bringing ideas of different persons together will help the Project go faster.

The saying that "2 good heads are better than 1", is rightly applied in team work.

The essence of the team work is so everyone would focus on their area of specialization and deliver the job at maximum productivity.

Team work also saves time at some points. Because everyone would be focused on their best area of work.

While in individual work, the sole worker would be shuffling between doing what he knows best to do and learning what he doesn't know much about, which would consume lots of time before delivery.

Teamwork is characterized with lots of benefits of an organization would want to achieve their goals faster.

It also helps the individual team members in acquiring some skills like good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.

Team work fosters efficiency, professionalism and quality productivity.

So i am saying all these to say that team work is good.
