Is It About Trust ANIMALPHOTOPRAPHY

The wild burros of the BLM land in California, Black Meadow Landing. I find myself saying, wow..they are so trusting. Then I stop and think, nope, they own this land. It's confidence. My thought anyway.

They are gentle and inquisitive. They will actually walk right up to you to smell you, I'm sure too to see if you have food.

Descendants of the Wild Burros left by the copper miners in the 1800's. They are protected. Signs indicate that we are not to feed them so they don't become dependent on humans but unfortunately we see people throwing food out for them. The people leave and the Burros stand at the door waiting. Who ever said animals are dumb.

I think I may have mentioned previously that one burro is fascinated with our Lola, the Newfoundland. Lola, not so much with the burro. They do kick so I keep Lola at a safe distance as we pass by.

There are dumpsters located throughout the park and before they put up "Burro guards" they could open the dumpster and pick out the bags of trash. After the guards were installed we could hear them kicking the heck out of one dumpster during the night along with their braying. They were not, "happy campers".

Just a taste of life living with these beautiful creatures. They are very generous sharing their space for sure.
