Is it ok to use voting-bots?

In this article I want to write about a sensitive subject here on steemit: voting-bots. Some people are ok with people using them, others are against it. Lets dive a bit deeper in this subject!
What is a voting bot?
A voting bot is an account on steemit wich you can send SBD to get an upvote. You have 3 different types of bots: Bidbots, Bots with a certain upvote in return and bot platforms. The purpose of this is that you often get an upvote wich is more worth then the SBD you send so that you get a little profit.
Bidbots
Bidbots are bots wich divide their 100% upvote over the people who bid on it. The higher your bid the bigger piece of the 100% vote you will get. The risk with this bot is that the total amount bid can be higher then the 100% upvote meaning that you will lose money. On the other side you can also be very lucky that the total amount bid is much lower then the 100% upvote meaning you get a nice profit. Bidding on a voting bot is always a risk so be prepared that you can lose SBD when you do this.
Bots with a certain upvote
There are also bots wich guarantee you a certain return on your send amount. This return is often around 2 times the money you send. An example of this can be that you send 0.5 SBD with a return of 2x means that you will get an upvote of 1 SBD on the article you want. This bots are much more safe then bidding bots but if you are lucky with a bidding bot your return could be higher.
Bot platforms
This are platforms wich collect authorization of a lot of users to use their votes. When you buy a vote there the platform uses the votes of these users to give you the return. A % of the SBD you send to the platform will be divided over the users wich votes are used. Examples of platforms like this are minnowbooster and smartsteem. The return of smartsteem as example is between 2 and 2.5 times the amount you send wich is quite good.
But is it ok to use voting-bots?
This question is quite hard and there are a lot of opinions about this. Some people think its oke, some people think its not. Personally I used some bots latest weeks and I didn't feel bad about it. In my eyes it can be really frustrated to see people posting a meme and get $70 while I write a post for several hours and maybe get $0.22.
I do understand tough that some people are against it because there are also people "abusing" the bots. When you on purpose make a post with only a meme or 2 sentences and then use voting-bots to let it get a big reward doesn't seem to be right in my eyes. I guess thats the effect of a decentralized platform.
