A way to help the community as a minnow: Steemcleaning!

in #community7 years ago

Hey everybody!!

In this post I will tell a bit more about a way to help the community as a minnow. There are several ways to help the community on steemit: you can write tutorials, adopt a minnow, curating new members with quality content , build apps/websites based on the blockchain or off course just write original and high quality content! If you dont have so much steem Power or no programming skills then these things are maybe hard to do as a minnow.

Off course you can write high quality content and improve Steemit in this way but there is another way to make steemit a better community: Steemcleaning. Because there is money involved in steemit you will see all kinds of abusers active on this platform. Some users try to lift on others succes by just copying articles from steemit or the internet and others are just spamming everywhere for a chance to get an upvote. Thats why the steemcleaners exist.

Steemcleaners is a group of people who are trying to reduce the amount of abusers on steemit and you can actually help them! On their website Steemcleaners there is a button called "report abuse". If you find any of the following forms of abuse you can report it to them and they will take appropriate actions:

-Plagiarism
-Tag abuse
-Spam
-Photo/image plagiarism
-Tag spam
-Unverified identity
-Copy/paste
-Comment spam
-Identity theft/deception

By reporting abusers you will help the community to grow in a healthy way. The good part for minnows is that you also can get rewarded for reporting abusers. In this case its a win/win situation: the amount of abusers will reduce and your steempower will rise!

I did my job yesterday by reporting 15 abusers. I hope you guys will do the same :)

Very interesting thanks! One question, how is the reward exactly working? Or is this a dumb question? :)

Hey! There are no dumb questions :) I dont know exactly how they calculate the rewards but to give you an indication about the amount I can tell you I got like 0.5 steempower for reporting 2 people before. I guess they pay out like once a week. Good luck reporting :)

Thanks, ill look into that! I feel like Steemit could use some cleaning here and there anyways :)

I did not know there was a reward for reporting abusers. Your doing a good job. Only the citizens can keep their community clean
