When You Go To The Disco - EXIT!!
Hello Steemians, Let's share something serious and beneficial to the community today. When I saw these photos they reminded me of my younger years. Being single was one of the best days of my life. It was not so interesting maybe :):) but It was a good memories to cherish. My job was very demanding and busy that time. I only slept, ate, worked, friends and then repeat...then again. At one point I got tired of being single hahaha
Yours truly, the village girl, got a chance to go to disco and had a little bit of fun. I moved out when I was 26 years old, it's a "cultural thing". We, filipino's are very close to our families, overprotective and sheltered, even you have your children already, grandchildren and great grandchildren, you're still with them. But what can we do, this is our culture. We grow up like this and you pass it on to your children. Of course there are advantages and disadvantages of it.
When we were off from work, especially on weekends, my friends and I would plan in advance, one of them was going to disco's. I didn't experience disco in the Philippines, except in the village when I was little when there was a fiesta or a town celebration. I was single, young and carefree, working hard and having a good time with crazy friends are always a good combination. You don't need anything in the world as long as you have loving friends around:) I was lucky to have them. They would pick me up and bring me home safe. They were very supportive and protective too, especially the guys. I knew my limitations when it comes to drinking beverages, though some of my friends got drunk and we were just laughing all night. But we made sure that we look after each other.
We knew which disco club we were going and I also knew where the emergency exit was. So, ladies and gents, if you want to go clubbing make sure that you know where the emergency doors exits are. Why? For safety reasons. If you are new to the disco club, you can always ask, check if the exit doors are working, you can even try if it is working. This is very, very important. Maybe some of you, remember the tragic accident that happened at OZONE DISCO CLUB in the Philippines, one of my friends was caught up in fire inside the club. It was a big news in my country.
Mostly the victims were graduating high school students. So what was the cause of the accident? There was a fire and electrical problems inside, the emergency exit doors were blocked by a new building next door and the fire exits were not properly installed. My friend survived, but the damaged that had been done from the fire was big. She had multiple plastic surgeries. She was one of the famous girls in our school, because of her beautiful face. It was sad but she is alive that's the most important thing.
Girls, I don't want to scare you. I know some of my friends here love discos a lot. What I mean is, it's ok to have fun, aside from being alert of what you are drinking and who's giving you a drink, make sure you know the basic, know the FIRE EXIT! It can save lives.
It's been a decade since I've been to disco club. I only dance now with my son or with my husband haha:):) I missed it though sometimes. Nothing wrong to have fun, know your limits and boundaries. Respect yourself so people around you will respect you back. Be aware of what's happening in your environment. Always check if the assigned driver is not drunk. Other option, if you wanna be crazy and really have a good time, you can also hang out at your friends house and have your own disco club! So enjoy while you are young, be free and be happy. Embrace life. And don't forget the EMERGENCY EXITS!!!
Have a lovely Thursday everyone.

I'm sure you like clubbing?
Know not at all. Am not a clubbing type. Let me shock you,i have not been to club before, not because of anything just that i don't like it.
Most of the club party here in my country do result most of the tine in a fight, most especially over a lady:-!
With all sort of bottle breaking, stabbing and the rest. I dislike all that kind of a thing
oh boy, I can relate:) Let me shock you too:)LOL I never, ever went out alone at night when I was living in the Caribbean island. I was always with somebody.
It's ok not to go clubbing, home is best:):)

I prefer staying at home watch movie, play football,go for concert that is what i love doing
These are cool things ma broda., better than disco:)

It is important to have some fun and enjoy life, but like you said know your limits and boundaries.
Thanks for the tip about knowing where the exits are, I would never even think of that, but like your very sad story showed, it is a good eye opener, and I hope that most people survived the tragedy and your friend is doing good.
I will also share this to my son when he grows up:) He's not teenager yet:):)
It was a tragic accident, my friend survived and I'm sure she is doing well.
We lost contact, been a long time ago.
Thanks so much @joalvarez.
