The Roscioli Caffè Pasticceria, not a place that should be judged from the plain and small exterior.

Being a foreigner in Rome, I wasn't familiar with my directions, but managed to find this hideaway that once you enter, speaks modern Italian cafe with baristas busily making each caffeinated order. But take a few steps in, you'll see that the clean tiled floors lead you to a black walled corridor. At first, the outright contrast seems to be a mistake and a work in progress, but similar to a speakeasy concept, the dark and mysterious room is a restaurant with only 9 seats and a big bar top table. This exclusive seating makes you feel weirdly comfortable and lets you drift away into the lazy Sunday afternoon as you chatter on about the familiar faces on the wall with mouths shut with masking tapes.enter image description here

Opposite of the entrance is a shelf extended wall to wall, full of alcoholic beverages and cocktail garnishes ready to be tossed and turned in a stainless shaker.

The bartender doubles as a waiter and a server, and starts you off with a basket of GOOD Italian bread.

This exclusive dining experience is just the start as we sit awaiting to taste the best burrata our tongues have ever experienced. The solid outer curd with the melting core that tastes of fresh milk slowly transfers you to the Swiss alps as you lie on the green grass. The sun-dried tomatoes and olives bring different textures that make the burrata more appealing when coupled with.

We ordered other main dishes to try, but none beat the wonders of the burrata.
Simple and to the essence, pasta dishes are also worth a try.

I love Italian food in Italy... Simple flavours and dishes, never overstocked with too much conflicting ideas!

Precisely. That's why any Italian restaurant is able to cook up a devine dish.
