finally the road is paved again...
It looks good for Christmas , i might even be able to park my car again in front of the house :)
i made this photo series this morning while they where working on the road in front of my house here in Holland.
three man are laying the bricks in the machine in a certain patern.
then they slowly move the machine backwards so the bricks fall like a carpet on the sand
it's a pretty new Dutch invention [2010 ]to lay bricks this way and it still gets a lot of attention of people as you can see since it's still not a common sight of how to lay bricks.
the machine can do up to 300m2 a day the original website of the machine makers is http://tiger-stone.nl/ it's in Dutch but i'm sure google translate can help you :)
new brick supplies are lifted on top of the machine with a small shovel
and as soon as the bricks leave the machine you can walk and drive over it
the time it took from the 1st picture to this last one is only 60 minutes so you see how fast it can be done
all images made with a Sony A6000 camera and a Rokkor 28mm3.5 lens
That is an amazing machine! Great documentation. I believe documentary photography can make some of the greatest work, real life captured by the lens! Keep up the good work!
