RE: Let's talk about bots

in #steemit7 years ago

This is another opportunity to mention the automatized spammer and plagiarizer natur-pur.
It is another proxy of abandi/awesome-gadgets/best-strategy/lucky-robin/steem-network
and no one cares about it except from me.
Once in a month a bigger, more powerful user finds the will to remove a part of its rewards, but it is always too late, and it is still beneficial.
abusereports (bernie), adm, mack-bot, spaminator and steemcleaners are all corrupt entities that intentionally allow it to stay profitable.
They ignore my comments about it, except from adm which made a pretentious token gesture that removed less rewards from it than I did.
The witnesses are corrupt too and so are the preminers.

natur-pur is a bot that spams this blockchain with plagiarized content and then automatically and opportunistically buys votes on it in the last moment whenever it is extremely profitable.

Managed to talk to some of the bot owners to blacklist those accounts so they can't even bid.

Blacklisting the account that's receiving the reward does nothing. They need to block the bidding accounts. Unfortunately, not every bot owner is as willing to strike out an easy customer, and not every bot owner wants to interact with the community.

Most bot owners are on the scammer side of the spectrum.
Should scammers be expected to care about spam or the community?

Which accounts do you refer to?
The recipes posters, or the automated spammer, plagiarist and proxy miner?
If the latter is the case, the bidding was done from all of its account, barring at most one.

There are at least 2 things that I hate about blacklisting by bot owners the way I saw it here:

  1. The bid is usually confiscated (not refunded) based on belonging to one man's list or one entity's request
  2. The income is donated to steemcleaners, which is a bad thing to do. At least transfer it to null (burn it).
    Steemcleaners deserve no donations.

If most are scammers some are not. I'm curious what sorts of bots help to strengthen the community, to what degree, and how their impact compares to the bad actors.

Look up @themarkymark and his work. Some love him. Some hate him, but he's a proactive bot owner and witness.

He is also a hypocrite.
Just try to approach him with bernie's fish thread.
See if he unvotes it.
Only a hypocrite supports STEEM instead of seek a replacement from scratch that will implement the concept of STEEM.

BTW, lrd is a scam.
Check my latest reply to it.
I expect it to be ignored and its owner to run away with my money.
It may well be zeartul for all I know.
Go figure why neoxian undelegated from it.

This reeks of systemic corruption. I hope this platform doesn't go down the drain due to excessive greed.

Well, you have several options:

  1. Carry on and let it be none of your business.
  2. Be part of the effort to do something.
  3. Be part of the abuse.

Just so you know that the last option will create some headaches and flags.

I definitely don't want to contribute to abuse. Carrying on and ignoring it also doesn't seem like a real option to me, but I'm not really sure what I could do to help even if I'd like to.

It was born in sin when it was a premined currency.
Nothing except from a new out of scratch rival platform can fix it.
And people should comprehend that 100% of the witnesses here are corrupt.
Some more corrupt and some less corrupt, and all of them are corrupt.
I hope that a substitute for STEEM will be created, and if it does (probably will not happen this year), none of its top witnesses will be a current top witness in STEEM.
