I have noticed recently that there has been a lot of new users joining #Steemit and missing out on the #introduceyourself tag.
When joining #Steemit please use this tag.
I would also like to encourage new users to kick-off your their first Blog with a selfie including their #Steemit ID and the date of the Blog.

I have seen many old user still using the tag to get into limelight...not sure...even few usi g bidbots on their introductory post..quite amazingbhow they get to bidbots as soon they join in...

Sadly, you will always get some people that will want to abuse the tag, but in general, it does genuinely highlight those that have just joined. Thanks for the comment. Stephen
Thatz true @stephenkendal it is more of abusing now. Even many bot welcoming are not even checking on the content they just keep welcoming all the shits...

Great advice. It definitely helps new folks and getting to know the community of steemit. I've been here almost a year and a half and I wish steemit had a reintroduce yourself tag.
