Chef "a la Kendal" debates a million dollar question. Does the jam go on-top or under the clotted cream? Haha haha.
Chef "a la Kendal" has a Clotted Cream Tea
Clotted Cream Tea. Jam or cream first?
As Chef "a la Kendal" treats himself to a Clotted Cream Tea, he debates whether the jam goes on top or under the clotted cream. Haha haha.
After finding a gorgeous bakery tucked away on a walk, lured by the smell, it had to be an afternoon treat.
A million dollar question
However, it poised a million dollar question that has baffled scientists, foodies and cream tea'ers around the World for Centuries.
Which goes on first, the jam or the cream? Haha haha.
After dilerberating it for a minute, I decided to go for the clotted cream first then jam second and leave it up to the experts to decide.
Either way, it tasted gorgeous..!!

a.k.a. Chef "a la Kendal"
A Devon cream tea has the cream sitting on top of the scone, then the jam on top of that. A Cornish cream tea, on the other hand, has the jam as the first ingredient on the scone, followed by the cream...@stephenkendal I prefer mine cream to sit at the top of the scone then the jam on top of that.

Always underneath @stephenkendal. There is no question about it. That way you get the jam more evenly spread. 😂

Wow !! many years ago I was blessed to be there in England where clotted cream was. It seemed like a "dream world". Cried when I had to leave...many years ago....
The USDA only allows a maximum amount of fat in our milk products which is 30% Clotted cream reaches the 55% mark and that's considered "unhealthy" and thus not manufactured in our country. Just like Chef John, I have been making my own and cannot tell you people how wonderful it is.. TRY IT!!!!!!!
Bon appetite 😂😋👏
