SEC-S15W4: My Dream Place: Ameland
*We all dream about a dream place where we would like to move and maybe to spend the rest of our life, that is why I decided to do something for this challenge that is hosted by Steem For Bangladesh community:

What is your dream place and why? |

The place, that I can call a dream place for me and my hubby is Ameland, that is a small island that is one of the west Frisian Islands off of the Netherlands. To give you an idea here are hte chain of the islands and one of them is Ameland that hosting summer camps for children already many decades.
First of all, it is a little island and everything is very close so people use bike for shopping, to beach, just to go for cuppa. The distance from one side of the island to other may take about an hour with bike. Recently we noticed that there are e-bikes and scooter that is often used on island. Of course, there are cars too but people try not to use cars it is a holiday island but also, island of farmers so you can see sheep, horses, and cows around. Also, there is a wildlife including seagulls because of sea, rabbits, squirrels, deer.
When you wake up in the morning especially in summer you can have breakfast outside in fresh air.
You can ride your bike to the nearest windmill to buy some cheese, eggs and bread, they are always fresh and there is a variety of cheese for any taste.
We are usually in summer there, it is hot and sunny, so we spend a lot of time outside, the same time it is crowded with tourists and children. My hubby was there in winter too, especially when he was younger, he was there with his family more often.
There are many memories and also the local people are very friendly and communicable therefore, it would be really nice place to settle for me and my hubby once we can effort stop working.
I always dream to be able to spend time there on beach and to paint the seascape, waves, boats and of course windmills.
If we move to this little place we definitely want to take part in life of local people helping with different things like repairing something, maybe to help on farm with simple work and also to clean beaches but also to help on volunteers with protecting wild life, because only when you are busy even on holiday you then can enjoy it.
So that is our dream place and hope that one day it will come true :)

This place looks and sounds like a dream. My wife and I also talk about where we'd like to spend our retirement. Somewhere with a lot of nature, peaceful, no cares nor worries, and no cars :) We haven't found that place yet though.
Yes, the place is great to settle when we do not need to work. I agree with you and your wife, it is important to be able to have an opportunity to be in fresh air, close to nature and of course, to have friendly people around :)

Seems like a wonderful and quite idyllic place, even with summer tourists. In some ways it reminds me of some of the summer destinations in Denmark when I was little... nice to know such places still exist!
Yes, it has similarity with countryside in Denmark what I like most that the houses have a year when they were built but also there are some houses called "Captain's house" it is difficult to imagine that in the past it was a house of Captain of a real ship, very exciting :)

Yes, the place like in fairly tale especially when people have little kids that is a little paradise, to be able to spend time on beach but also to be able to visit farmers and strike sheep.

Hi @nooruleman, sorry I think you are mistaken the island is in Europe, the Netherlands. It is not far from us and climate fits us better. So we will see what the future will bring us :)
Hi @stef1, thank you very much for this invitation, I learned from your post about the Ameland. When I saw the map of the Islands there, I imagined spending days sailing the island chain in a yacht would be so fantastic.
I have a question: Actually, what does the daily windmill function other than as the power supply?. I am always curious about that
It is nice to see you here, Windmill is grinding grains into flour small amount but so that they can produced some bread from own grains. There is of course, flour in supermarket but the one that is done by old tradition always appreciated by tourists :)
So that is it, now I know why they sell fresh bread in that place. Knowing more about windmills is interesting, so the windmills can also be used for other purposes. Thank you @stef1. Have a good day there

Veo que ya has estado allí por eso añoras regresar cada vez, con tu familia.
Estar en contacto con la naturaleza y con animales de granja debe ser una experiencia muy bonita para tus hijos.
Me parece un lugar perfecto porque de paso puedes ir a todas partes en bicicleta ,yo amo andar en bicicleta, ♥️
También puedes conseguir productos frescos como pan huevo y leche.
No dudo que si te llegas a mudar algún día disfrutarás mucho de la vida de campo rodeada del mar 🤗

Yes, you are right, often places where we were as children are the most precious due to our memories about time, parents and our friends. I am glad that there is not much changes since the years before, many shops are still have same owners or their kids who now grown up and continuing their business.
We will se what the future holds for us :)
