Fishing festival
Hello my dear Steemians,
Is there any event in your city or town that became a regular tradition? We have here one and it is a fishing. I was a bit surprise to find how many people here love finishing and that there are so many different types of fishes could be caught.
One of our colleague has many photos on the wall and that are made from his regular trip for fishing, one he has a big or unusual fishes he makes photo and hang it on wall. you can see then from different years and approximately going back almost 20 years.
Last weekend when we were walking at the coast we have witnessed that amazing challenge of fishing, of course, there were not only fishermen but also many who did photography for local press but also the local people were there with kids to wonder what kind of catch the people have.
Here we have some photos from the whole beach that it is extended.
Good to see what's going on: here there is hunting, skiing, trailing riding on ATVs, and the Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid festival. There are also rodeos everywhere in August.
Rodeos sound really interesting, especially to see it live, might be a great event :)
They are, rodeos I mean. The world champions of bronco busting live in the town 20 miles south or so. That was a large upvote on my comment, thank you very much! I must keep thinking of things to say but you are very interesting person, Doc

Features of national fishing.
We still have winter fishing competitions every year. This is truly folk fishing. As the jokers say about such fishing - "pour and drink." In summer, there are also competitions in spinning fishing, feeder, and float fishing rods. Previously, I also participated in similar events and even turned out to be the champion of spinning fishing in regional competitions. It was 2001. Youth!
Thank you, @stef1, for sharing such photos!
Yes, some of our activities we stop the older we get, it is a shame but it is great to know that you won the regional championship :) I can imagine that in winter people so ice-fishing too in your place, where winter is very cold
Of course, in the 90s there was a mass celebration of fishermen on the reservoirs in March-April. Some slept on the ice instead of fishing. Back then, firms and organizations could afford to organize this kind of vacation for their employees, and fishermen in large groups on buses came to ice-covered reservoirs. There is no such thing now. In any case, I do not see such organized trips of fishermen to the reservoirs, everyone gets himself on his transport. But ice fishing is very popular among fishermen.
I love the sound of a fishing festival at the seaside 🎣 I would love to attend. It might be a bit more enjoyable in summer though 😜
Yes, the weather was not great, I also prefer to have such festival in summer. For people there who took part in it it was no matter, I believe they had one goal to win the competition :)
What an interesting activity! Good tradition. Unfortunately I live far from the sea...
I've never fished in a “surf” before. I’ve fished in lakes, in ponds, and in bays, but never in a surf. Never fished in a river either. I imagine fishing in the surf would be difficult...the lure constantly being pushed to shore, and then recasting many times. So I bet the competition must have been great.
That's a great moment, and everyone was enjoying themselves.
Вообще то я люблю рыбалку, но мне не доводилось рыбачить в море. Хотя нет, вру, ловил в Балтийском с лодки... но это было слишком редко.
А вот соревноваться точно не приходилось ))
