DIY: replacing light in kitchen

Hello my dear Steemians,
The ceiling light in the kitchen is a bit dark and while cooking I often wish to have more light. That is why after having our light in corridor we decided to organise the same type of light in kitchen. Ordered and in couple of days it was there, therefore, my hubby was busy today installing that.

This is how old ceiling light was looking like, you can see that on one side it was not really holding well.

The light is release from the ceiling and this is the cable that is giving the energy to light.

The light is on floor and it is time for the new one.

So now first we need to replace cable and hte set for light.

The light when it is off.

Now when it is switched on.

The new light looks much cooler and shines the 3d ceiling better than with the old one.
I noticed in your first picture a tree outside, do you know the name of it, I want something similar in my yard to cover the neighbors fence/wall, need to find a name and do some research if they do well during winter, how long does it take to grow, are they hard to work with.
@ady-was-here
That tree is a conifer! You find them everywhere with us especially years ago. They are were used instead of walls/fences around the garden but today most people are too lazy to cut them. I leave you the link of a Dutch sellar perhaps you see the type you like and search for the Latin name. These always remain green Some grow faster than others.

Thank you @wakeupkitty.pal super helpful and the diversity is huge, gonna save this and compare them with what I can find in local stores, I really want a wall of these in my yard.
It does look great and if it rains or drizzles it smells good as well.
🍀♥️
Look nice :) Good work !
Are you renovating the place? My kitchen is dark as well but I don't mind. I don't even have a window. I cook with the door to the hallway open or the frontdoor so I have light and if too dark to see I don't cook or use a flashlight. The ceiling with us is low and we are tall. LOL.
I thought I saw this post before and hoped you would share a bit more than this, it partly reminds me of #learnwithsteem.
All the best.
