DIY: exchanging old flooring

The time for the next project in our house, I remember if I mentioned that in this house likely due to many generation of people who previously owned the house but also different time, development of heating and radiator, electricity and also different taste of people there were many different changes were done. Very noticeable it is on floor, because majority of pipes for water and heating and because they were put under timber flooring the people cut the planks on different areas and many of the timber planks are shaky but also some of them because of woodworm very powdery.
So plan is to replace these defect timber planks. As next my hubby ordered timber with the same thickness and of course we needed appropriate length and it is 4,80 meters. Here how they look like they have taken the whole length of our corridor.
Here they are we have to cut them for the length of the floor because otherwise they were too long and it was not possible to bring them up into the room.
We started with this little walk in wardrobe because the floor is not wide and the timber needed to be cut in smaller length. You can see the difference between old and new timber.
instead of using wooden floors, is tiled or cemented floor not better? that one will last much longer compared to wooden floor. over time, the same challenge the previous house owner face, you will likely face it again because the wood worms won't stop coming
The houses here are different anf floors are wooden because they were built 200 years ago, there is a small basement too that is why the floors wood made. Also currently the floor we are doing is on upper floor and you can not do cement or beton because it will be too heavy and brake through.
