The Raiders host the Rams in Monday Night Football

The Los Angeles Rams and the Oakland Raiders will finish off the first week in the 2018 NFL regular season tonight when they battle it out on Monday Night Football. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:20pm Central Standard Time and the game can be seen on National Television on ESPN. It will take place at Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, California. The Rams are favorites at -6 and the over/under is 47 points. The weather forecast calls for a beautiful night with no rain in the forecast.

Last year, the Rams were the highest scoring team in the NFL. Their offense exploded with Jared Goff in his second season as an NFL quarterback and with running back Todd Gurley playing fantastic. This year they add a very talented wide receiver in Brandin Cooks and all signs point toward a big year.

It is a bit surprising tonight that the over/under is not any higher especially with the Raiders losing Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears in a trade last week. Mack is arguably the best defensive player in the NFL and one would assume that the Raiders defense will be struggling with out him.

The Raiders did make a significant move though when they added head coach Jon Gruden last year. Gruden was the most highly sought after coach in the country and had been an analyst and broadcaster on Monday Night Football for several years.

Quarterback Dereck Carr is thrilled to have the best quarterback guru in the sport now as his head coach in Oakland. Carr has all of the talent in the world but has had a rough couple years. Gruden could be the perfect person to get Carr to perform at the top of his potential.

Tonight’s game should be a very exciting and high scoring one. There are two great quarterbacks on the field and two offensive minded head coaches calling the plays. I think the game will go OVER the 47 point total and be an up and down the field track meet.
