The Opening Ceremonies of the 2018 Winter Olympics are here and as beautiful as ever! The host city, PyeongChang, South Korea is ready for the world to watch in it’s beautiful Olympic Village. Today is the official start of the 2018 Games and the excitement is through the roof!
This is the biggest party on the planet and all of the world’s athletes have come together to try and full fill their life long dreams. In an incredible show of peace, the Korean athletes entered the stadium as one. It is extremely encouraging as the tension between North and South Korea has been at a very stressful level of late.
The sister of North Korean Dictator Kim Jong Un, Kim Yo-jong, has been very visible throughout the Opening Ceremonies. She was the first person from the North Korean Government to shake hands and great a South Korean leader. This is WONDERFUL news. She is also sitting only a few feet from Vice President Pence and his wife. Let’s hope that this moves are a signal of what the future holds.
Some events are now underway but there have not been any medals won yet. We will keep you updated with all of the sports and medal counts as the world watches!
