This year, FC Dallas can get their hands on the Supporters' Shields, the trophy given to the team with the most points at the end of the Major League Soccer season. They are a win or a draw away from winning the regular season championship for the first time in their history. On Sunday, October 23 at 4 pm ET, FC Dallas visits the StubHub Center in Carson, California where the LA Galaxy will try to stop them. This is no typical Western Conference matchup; a title is on the line as well as deciding the MLS playoffs bracket.

FC Dallas

FC Dallas has been in a battle all year long with the Colorado Rapids for the top of the Western Conference. FCD now stand atop the Rapids at 59 points against Colorado's 57 points. Dallas has their faith in their hands for this game on Decision Day when all teams play their final game of the season. No matter Sunday's results, FC Dallas will get a bye when playoffs start. If they were to win the Shield and then the MLS Cup playoffs trophy which they also never won, they would end up winning all of the three most important American soccer titles in the same year. This winning it all possible scenario would mean adding the Supporters' Shield and the MLS Cup to their Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup accomplishment. Last summer was the second time they won the U.S. Open Cup tournament. In 1997, when they used to call themselves Dallas Burn, they were also awarded the Dewar Cup.

Mauro Diaz

Mauro Diaz will shine Sunday not by his usual magical playmaking but by his absence. FC Dallas' number 10 came off injured from last week's game, and he looks like he is done for the season. The loss of Diaz can be a big factor for Sunday's game. His team as a record of 14W-4L-6D when he is in the line-up, compared with a not as much impressive result of 3W-4L-2D when he is not in uniform.

LA Galaxy

Just like FC Dallas, the LA Galaxy is one of the ten charter clubs of MLS. In twenty years of MLS history, twenty-one if we count 2016, they won the Supporters' Shield four times, the MLS Cup five times and the U.S. Open Cup twice. Not only is the LA Galaxy among the most decorated teams in MLS, but they can probably also be considered as the organization with the most significant player signings. One of these is the most important world stage star ever to be in the league, you might have heard about him, his name is David Beckham. His coming to MLS created a rule nicknamed in his honor. The Designated Player rule allows since 2007, for clubs to pay for players outside of the salary cap restraints for teams.

Landon Donovan

Talking about a legend, there is one that came back playing for the Galaxy in 2016. Landon Donovan, who some consider as the best American soccer player ever, leads the league in all-time goals (145) and assists (136). This year he made is return from retirement on September 8, 2016. So far, he has started one game out of five and scored one goal when coming in the 83rd minute as a substitute in the game against Orlando City SC. The LA Galaxy have won the MLS Cup in 2011, 2012 & 2014 with Donovan among their ranks. Could he be the inspiration to the Californian team's return to glory?

How to Play

• Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).

• Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).

• After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.

The Stake Pool:

• The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.

• 30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.

• 70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.

• Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.

• Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.

• Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.
