NFL Draft Preview Linebacker: Jerome Baker

The 2018 NFL Draft is almost here and we want to take a look at some of the best players that will be hearing their names called in the first rounds. Today we want to focus on the Linebacker position. Next, let’s take a look at the junior from the Ohio State University, Jerome Baker. He is leaving college a year early to pursue his dream of playing in the NFL.
Jerome Baker was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He had an outstanding high school football career and every team in the country wanted to sign him. Initially, the Florida Gators though they had landed the talented linebacker. But Baker would change his mind and would stay home and go to the Ohio State University.
It was a quiet start to Jerome Baker’s career as a Buckeye. He would barely play his freshman year. Baker would appear in just 3 games and would only have 4 tackles.
But Baker would make his mark as the next great Ohio State defensive player in his sophomore year. He would start in all 13 games and have 83 tackles and 3.5 sacks. He was one of the best linebacker’s in the Big Ten. He would put up similar numbers in his junior year and his decision was simple. Baker would enter his name into the 2018 NFL Draft.
Jerome Baker will likely hear his name called in the second round of the draft. He has the size and speed to step into the starting line up on most NFL rosters. If he can improve his pressure on the quarterback, Baker has the potential to be one hell of a linebacker in the NFL.
