NFC Championship Game Preview

We have been waiting since the start of September for this day. It is the NFL’s Championship Sunday that will feature the AFC and NFC Title Games with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. I want to first preview the NFC Championship Game between the Los Angeles Rams and the New Orleans Saints. Kickoff is set for 2:05pm Central Standard Time and the game can be seen on National Television on FOX. It will take place at the Superdome in New Orleans. The Saints are favored by 3 points and the over/under is 56.5 points.
This should be one heck of a battle!
The Los Angeles Rams enter today’s game on a roll. They are absolutely loaded on offense and are led by quarterback Jared Goff. He is just in his 3rd year in the league and is already considered one of the best in the NFL. Goff is averaging 286 yards in the air per game and has thrown 32 touchdowns and only 12 interceptions. He is completing 64% of his passes and has a passer rating of 99.8.
Goff is just one piece of the puzzle in Los Angeles though. Running back Todd Gurley is an MVP candidate and rushed for well over 1,000 yards this year. He has scored 22 touchdowns and will be ready for the big game today.
The New Orleans Saints come into this afternoon’s game with all of the confidence in the world. They are having their best season since they won the Super Bowl and quarterback Drew Brees is playing incredible. Brees is now 40 years old but he is another MVP candidate and will likely be the winner.
Brees has mentioned publicly that he wants to play for 5 more years and why not? His numbers this year were historically good. Brees completed a NFL record 74.4% of his passes while throwing 34 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions.
A big reason for the success of Brees and the Saints offense this year was due to running back Alvin Kamara. The second year running back had over 1,500 all purpose yards and 18 touchdowns. Kamara is just as dangerous catching the ball as he is running the ball. And when he needs a break, Mark Ingram comes in and also plays the position at a very high level.
It should be a great match-up today with two of the top offenses in the NFL. The home crowd will be pumped up for the Saints and the Superdome will be rocking! Thank you for following @steemsports and you can find me @npl77
