2018 NBA All Star Game Preview

The 2018 NBA All Star Game is tonight in Los Angeles, California. The game will feature Team Lebron vs Team Steph. It will be played at the Staples Center, the home to the Lakers and the Clippers. Tip off is at 7pm Central Standard Time and can be seen on National Television on TNT. Team Lebron is favored by 2.5 points and the over/under is 340.5 points.
Team Lebron was handpicked by the Cleveland Cavs super star. In an very interesting scenario, Lebron and former teammate Kyrie Irving are teamed up again. Joining them are Kevin Durant, Anthony Davies, and DeMarcus Cousins, although Cousins is out with a season ending injury. Russell Westbrook will step into the starting line up. This team is LOADED. This may be the most talented NBA All Star Game starting 5 in decades.
Team Steph is ok but no where near as good in my opinion. Joining Curry in the starting line up will be Giannis Antetokounmpo, DeMar DeRozen, Joel Embiid, and James Harden. I am kind of in shock that DeRozen and Embiid and NBA All Star starters. They are having great seasons but really? NBA All Star starters? I just don’t see that making any sense. It might be a long night for Team Steph, unless this squad can launch and make a historic amount of three pointers tonight.
This game always gives me mixed emotions of late. I absolutely love watching the best players in the world going head to head. It is spectacular to see all of these guys on the same court. But I absolutely hate the lack of defense. It has gotten to be an embarrassment and it serves no purpose to watch players throw themselves alley oops of the backboard while the defending team doesn’t even bother to put a hand up. I mean, the over/under is all the way up to 340.5 points. That is over 100 points higher than the biggest over/under of the regular season. I wish the NBA would put up $5 Million and the MVP of the winning team would get to donate that money to a charity of their choosing. The way it is set up now, no one really cares about winning. They only care about making the highlight reel.

This game will be filled with alleys and matador defense until late in the 3rd quarter. The players would never go for it.....but putting a winner take all pot up for grabs would make this game so much more competitive. I’m still gonna watch. : )
Hey @tinylayla. This will be a high scoring exhibition. I remember when these all star game totaled in the mid 200s. Now the over under is 340? Why not go for 400 since defense is not a priority.
