A Nice Story Of Me Helping My Friends With A Free Recycled Gift - Good Karma At Work
I find a LOT of expensive stuff on the curbs. I sell most, keep some, donate some, and give some away to friends.
Here's how I turned this flawless quartzite countertop I found on Monday into FOOD!
Step 1 - Get a call from my friend down the street on Monday asking if I could help find them a shelf for a project they're working on.
Step 2 - Find this the same evening, carry it home, and tell my friend about it. It's worth about $100 cash and in flawless condition.
Step 3 - She says it's perfect and comes with her boyfriend today to pick it up. I turn down money, so they insist on having me over for a salmon dinner on Monday.

Step 4 - Right after selling an air purifier I recycled for $220 cash, I went to their place to see what they did with it and receive 4 protein shakes and a broken Nespresso Lattissima One machine they were going to toss that I'll sell in parts.
Step 5 - See what they did! They are so happy that they're idea came to life with the perfect table top I found for them.
Sure, I could've sold the counter fairly easily for $100 cash, or taken their money, but those weren't an option. It's about the bigger picture, one I wish more Steemians could understand. I didn't expect the food or the coffee machine, but it was nice of them. It's hard for me to turn down food. I'll give them half of my profit on what I sell. I'm also glad to have helped save the machine from being put out on the curb.
**This reminded me of a story in the past where I found a free dutch oven that I spent 4 days restoring for a friend in exchange for her banana bread. She shocked me with the bread AND a gift to resell, which I did for $665!
