Task #2: A Picture Writing Prompt (Mini Creative Writing Challenge)
The deadline for Task #1 is over.
In my honest opinion Task #1 from the recently announced new Mini Creative Writing Challenge is among the best writing exercises I've offered since the summer.
Feel free to take part in the second task, no matter if you have taken part in the previous exercise.
Currently the Mini Creative Writing Challenge is sponsored with 10 SBD.
TASK # 2: A picture writing prompt
Take a look at the image below and write a short story based on the impressions you have looking at the image. You have a full freedom to select the genre and the style.

This is another great task to both inspire and challenge yourself.
The deadline to submit your story is Midnight EST, Friday, December 8.

Sincerely yours,
@steemfluencer
Okay! Here's my submission.
The Boy In The Woods
Thank you @merej99! A lovely story <3
What a great idea for a writing challenge!
I can't make any promises but it definitely sounds like it's in my wheelhouse. Do you have a minimum word count for stories?
LOL! I thought you are busy with making pictures recently :) No, you can participate even with 100 words. This is the Mini Edition of the classic Creative Writing Challenge that was launched in the summer, had 2 editions and was inspired by your Community Engagement Writing Challenge. Pretty amazing, isn't it?
If you decided to write few lines and submit an entry just try to write it as a compelling story.
Here is my entry:
"Their property backed up to a wooded area, the thick carpet of spongy pine needles nearly overtaking what actual lawn they had. They didn’t care, not really. It was pretty amazing to be able to sit in the kitchen and look out on the dense forested area and imagine that they were in a vacation cabin out in the middle of their favorite mountain area instead of living just on the outskirts of the suburbs of small town America. Besides they had gotten the house for such a great price, it was well worth it. They didn’t even mind all the work after the house had sat empty for well over a decade. Anything for this gorgeous view and amazing sense of privacy.
They never really discussed what they thought about the history of the house, not after asking the realtor why it had sat empty for so long. She’d sputtered and said that they should just ignore the rumors... to be continued here
Hey @byn! Thanks for your entry! I need to apologize, because I just notice it. You and the The Woods will be included in the next challenge related post. Thank you for participating!
Okay. I'll keep an eye out for the next challenge. :)
Good work
Thank you! You had to participate though! :)
Ok
looks like a great challenge , im no good at these things but I love reading short stories and I hope you get a lot of entries !!upped and resteemed 👍👍👍📝📝📝📝
Thanks Karen! It's not that complicated to write a simple story if you'd like to. I think you'd love the current task which happen to be the last one of the series this year.
Hi! very good! I'm going to participate, regards.
Thank you for the interest once again @edurley! I think you'd love taking part in "Santa Claus is Taking His Toughest Decision" - the last task for this year.
I want to take part in this exercise, how can I participate here?
Hey, just submit the link from your story in the comments. The deadline is Friday, December 8. I'd be happy to re-steem and support your story, however I should also remind you that there are no any SBD rewards for this contest.
