Amazon is a household name around the world and with its ever-growing global footprint, anyone can become a successful Amazon Vendor / Seller. Like anything, with a bit of time anyone can learn how to use the platform.


Amazon has 3 platforms for sellers:

1) Amazon Seller Central (SC)

  • Amazon Seller Central has separate platforms in multiple countries where 1st and 3rd party sellers can market and sell their products directly to customers in their desired marketplace.

  • Sellers can fulfill the orders themselves or they can use Amazons fulfillment Service called Fulfillment By Amazon or (FBA). This is when Sellers ship their products directly to Amazon and when a customer orders your product, Amazon will make sure the product is delivered in a timely manner.


2) Amazon Vendor Central (VC)

  • This platform is by Invite Only. This is where Amazon buys products directly from the manufacturer and sells it on. If Amazon is interested in your products, you may receive an invitation, however this is not easy to achieve as the criteria is quite strict. To be successful, your business must be able to handle Amazons demands.

3) Amazon Vendor Express (VE)

  • This platform is similar to Vendor Central but you do not need an invite. If you have a product, can you set it up on Amazon VE and sometimes you may get a Purchase Order (PO) right away, however payment terms for VE are pegged at 90-Days. This makes cash flow a bit of an issue for smaller scale business.

You can sell globally with Amazon which makes it all the more appealing to sellers. Check the diagram below:

Now that you have this information, go ahead and look for products that you are interested in selling and try find them at a **_lower_** price than they are selling for on Amazon. You may be surprised that your local store has items for sale that you can take advantage of. Or you may have a friend who owns a business who is not yet selling on Amazon. Regardless, get out there and start hunting... GOOD LUCK!!
