Catching the ide with light spinning
"White predators" are called three species of freshwater fish of the carp family, in the diet of which there is a small fodder fish - asp, chub and ide. All these three species are hunted by spinning anglers. For some fishermen, these fish are fair by-catch, and for a small number of spinningists, the main object of catch and the most desirable trophy.
I have told about catching of asp and chub on spinning repeatedly. All disassembled on shelves, and a set of tackles, and lures. But the ide for many, including for me, remains a mystery fish. For all the time that I am fond of spinning fishing, the ide just a few times bite on my tackle. However, there was one outstanding specimen weighing 2.4 kilo, which I accidentally caught when catching a asp on the pilkers.
In theory, the tackle for catching an ide should be the same as when hunting a chub. I think that the spinning of the light class with a length of 7.2 - 8 feet and a test for the weight of baits up to 18-20 grams, the 2000 reel in the Shimano line and the # 0.5-0.6 line according to the Japanese classification are quite suitable. Baits - spinners and crankbaits, the same on which we catch the chub. Only localization sites of ide differ. If the chub prefers faster current at the beginning of rolls, strong chipping streams, then ide loves calmer places, and prefers to stand a little deeper, closer to the end of the roll or in a place with reverse current.
Some subtleties in the approach to catching an ion on a spinning reveals Alexander Volynkin, who shot a great story about searching and catching an ide on a spinning. His story about the choice of fishing places, tackles and baits is very detailed and interesting ...
My light gear kit, consisting of a GAD DELTA spinning 7.4 foot and 4-18 gram lure weight test, a Daiwa Freams 2506 reel with a # 0.6 line, I think, is ideal for catching ide. With the chubs, pikes and large perches, I coped with this tackle without any problems ...
