Self-Driving Cars..coming soon..
Hi steemians.
Thanks to new technologies, the automobile is transformed into a connected rolling object before becoming autonomous and limiting the number and severity of road accidents.
Some statistics are more reflective than others. In France, 124 drivers died in 2016 on the road during a business trip, according to the Interministerial Observatory of Road Safety. Another eloquent figure is that road risk is responsible for one in five fatal occupational accidents.
The eCall, a step towards the autonomous car
Today, Europe is poised to make a breakthrough in road safety. From April 2018, all new vehicles must be equipped with eCall, the geolocated emergency call. If the airbag is triggered or if the driver or one of his passengers presses the "SOS" button, the vehicle automatically calls an emergency number and transmits its GPS coordinates. With this device, help arrives more quickly at the scene of the accident and can mitigate the consequences. According to the European Parliament, 2,500 lives could be saved each year in Europe.
The eCall will force manufacturers to equip their vehicles with telematics boxes. The car becomes connected and new services will become available. And this evolution is only a step towards the autonomous car.
My opinion
I am frankly enjoying driving and I do not like the idea of self-driving, but if automatic driving will save lives from death, I will dispense with the idea. And what do you think about the subject ??
Below is a short film that analyzes and discusses the concept of the car itself. enjoy watching....
