Hi, every steemiters. I'm glad to join Steemit.
I’d like to introduce myself to you.

My steemit ID 'Sophiekr' means Sophie (my english name ) and Korea. I live in Seoul, Korea.
My hobby is reading books, watching movies and performances.
I've been an amateur actor in plays for several years.

I'm an agent for overseas clients and Korea. My services include all the required things; research, translation, project management.

I tried to run a blog written in English last year. But I put off the plan due to my laziness and poor writing skills.
Steemit has movitated me much to run an English blog.

I'd like to make global friends and improve my English writing skils, not only earn coins.
My main topic in steemit is Korean culture and history.
If you have anything to tell me, feel free to let me know.

I'm a very curious person. Moreover, I have written a book about climate and culture nowadays.
I have a lot of questions about foreign cultures.
- Why does UK have a bad reputation for food?
- How come Northern Europian countries have great well-fare systems?
- What makes terraced farm developed in Southeast Asia?
- Others

It seems that Steemit would be a great community where the members help each other.
Let's share our opinion and knowledge by posting.

Can you help me?

Sort:

I said it before, but again; Welcome to Steemit.

I think the UK is stereotyped to have bad cuisine because of the availability of old-world foods that are still common.

I agree your opinion. I have other reasons. I'll post them later.
Thanks ^^;;

Hello and welcome on Steem, Sang-Eun!
I'm interested in global human connections too, so I'll follow you and wish you luck.

As of your questions:

  • In Russia we have no bad rep for UK food. Fish & Chips and pudding is considered good. Milk & tea and english beer too. Only a porrige is questionable... but come on - it's a porrige! ))
  • In Russia we have a unemployment benefit of less than a 15$ / month... eh... Norethen Europe is so close to Russia. But only geographically
  • Terraces are needed to get enough space in mountains, I believe

Thanks for your sincere reply ^^;;
I didn't know porriage is well-known in UK.
thanks. ^^;;

Oh... we even have a old meme of porrige:

"ОВСЯНКА, СЭР!"

Sorry. I don't know what you mean exactly.

It seems that the meme of porrige is simillar to that of steamed rice for korean. ^^;;
What's the difference of porriage and soup?

Via your profile, I found that you have interest in NLP and Hypnosis.
So do I. I'm a beginerr. I'll study NLP ericson(?) soon.

Welcome to steemit

Hello sophiekr! Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. As a start, here are 5 tips that we believe will be helpful to you:

  1. Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
  2. Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
  3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
  4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
  5. Have Fun and Enjoy!

Saludos es un placer ver personas nuevas por aquí, éxitos te desea @ydavgonzalez.

Welcome Sophie! You sound like a culturally curious person... I think you'll really enjoy Steemit.

I would question whether Northern European countries have great wellfare systems. I've traveled the world for 5 years and I consistently meet intelligent German, Swedish and English guys in places like Medellin, Colombia and Kiev, Ukraine who are escaping the high taxes and feminism of their home countries. It seems to me that the well fare system of those countries drives the best members of society away.

But that's just my opinion and experience.

I agree your opinion. Korean people try much for their better lifes. ^^
