SEC S8-W1| THE POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA
Hello everyone, I hope that we are all in good health, so that we can always be involved in various programs organized by the Steem Community, and this time I will take part in the Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 8 Week 1 contest with the theme "The Power of Social Media" held by Community Steemit Philippines
| How old were you when you started getting involved in social media and what was your experience so far? |

The first time I got involved in social media was when I graduated from high school and I was 18 years old at that time.
At that time social media still seemed foreign to most people, but because I was going to enroll in college to continue my education, it required me to have a social media account as a means of communication with lecturers and college friends.
Of course there are many experiences that we get from social media involvement in our lives, everything that was previously difficult to reach will be easier to access with social media, even more fun from social media is when we can interact with lots of people around the world.
| What do you think is the right age for people to have access to social media? |

Back at school age, I couldn't access the internet, because my parents didn't allow us children to fall into bad things, and when I was still in school, the internet could only be accessed in a special place like an internet cafe by paying an hourly rent. Moreover, social media is still very rarely used by the public.
However, in contrast to the conditions of the modern era as it is today, social media is a necessity and some schools even require children to have social media accounts to facilitate interaction between teachers and students.
Apart from all that, I do not agree that children are directly involved with social media at an early age, because there will be many negative impacts that will be received if children are free to use social media.
Ideally, social media can only be used by people over the age of 15, because at that age we can usually sort out what is good and what is not good, so that the use of social media does not backfire.
| What can you say to people who are no longer in charge of managing their social media accounts? |

This is very regrettable, because social media accounts are vulnerable to changing hands due to the actions of hackers.
If you no longer want to manage your social media accounts, then you should just delete them or make security more stringent, because usually accounts that are rarely active will be vulnerable to being infiltrated by hackers to become fraudulent practices against friends or people closest to the owner of the social media account.
The thing that needs to be ensured about your social media account is that it cannot be accessed by anyone other than yourself, because if that happens it is likely to be used as a medium for spreading false information which can cause harm to many people.

Use social media properly and wisely, so that it can benefit others, good use of social media is to take advantage of positive things, such as sharing important information to be accessible to everyone who needs it, selling online with live streaming, and as a means of interaction with relatives and family.
It's important to pay attention, if we want to share anything, make sure to check the truth, don't let us share false information, let alone false information that can drag us into the realm of law.

The presence of social media continues to grow from time to time, and of course has a huge influence on various aspects of life, so it is certain that the presence of social media in this modern era can influence our future lives to be more developed and effective.
Just look at how a product advertised on social media can be quickly accessed by consumers, criminals can easily be found thanks to social media and even political parties can easily carry out campaigns without having to pay a lot of money.
In the future, social media will no longer be separated from our lives, because it will become something we really need to do various things.

It is commonplace, that whatever we use will have positive and negative impacts, but it all depends on how we use it.
Profit
The biggest advantage I get from social media is, I can interact again and even visit my old friends who haven't seen each other for decades, through social media we are reunited.
As a small example of another advantage, the use of social media can be a profitable thing for those of us who want to market new products, namely by placing advertisements on all the social media accounts that we have, so that our products will quickly be known by many people, the concept of marketing marketing using social media is the most used concept today by almost everyone.
Loss
The presence of social media actually makes humans not social, maybe that's something we all have felt.
We are busy interacting with many people around the world, so sometimes we forget that there is someone beside us who is being neglected.
Social media makes us close to people who are far away, but social media also makes us far from people who are close to us.

In my country the most widely used social media are WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and now the steemit platform is also one of the social media that has been widely used, this is evidenced by the continued increase in the population of steemit users from Indonesia.

You are right that kids should be familiar with social media at an early age. If they are, then there is more chances to slippage from the right path. because they are not enough mature to handle social media in early age.
