Managing Multiple Clients.

Planning is Key.

As clients come and go, I find that sometimes I have plenty of time on my hands and then sometimes I have a flurry of orders and jobs that I find myself overwhelmed with the amount of work I have to do. Of course these busy times, cover the quieter times so it is important to get everything done, on time and meet any necessary deadlines.

One of the most important factors of handling a large workload is planning ahead, making sure that I have the jobs in list of order from urgent/important, urgent/not important, needs to be done, can do later. By categorising them in an order to deal with, it ensures that I get it all done and in the order it needs to be done.

Of course, other things crop up that are unexpected so it is also worthwhile to take into account any 'changes of plans' and not over-promise anything to ensure that the job is done in a timely manner. For example, if I have a small web project that I expect to complete in 3 days, then I quote 7 days and this is usually business days so weekends don't count. The ultimate mission is to ensure everything is done in time and that my clients are happy with our work.
