I'm thinking I don't have to tell you our news today, you've probably already guessed, but just in case, at the risk of sounding like a broken record: THE URINALYSIS PERSON CAME AGAIN TODAY!! For Jared's pee this time! She didn't watch him, but she watched me yesterday. What in the world, get it together people!! Unlike the other UA person, she was actually staring the whole time. I'm behind a bit of a privacy wall on that side of the bathroom, but still!! Well in case they haven't figured it out yet, I have a news flash for them.

WE AREN'T DOING DRUGS!!!!!

So I want to ask. What are the odds that this computer decided for them to come 6 out of 9 days, when the order was for 3 times in the entire month??

Either

1.) The order for the amount of UAs we have to take is a much higher number.

2.) There is a human deciding to harass us and not a computer after all.

3.) The computer is evil and wants to destroy us.

In other news, we had reason to be very anxious this morning...

Jared had his first probation appointment since this all started happening, and he had to tell him about what was going on and why. After he was gone for an hour and a half, I started pacing around the house nervously, getting more and more convinced that he was taken to jail. He had never taken that long before with the P.O. Then I messaged his mom, telling her that I thought he was in jail, and almost immediately after this, the van pulls into the driveway. I was so relieved!

The probation officer could have sent him to jail on a probation hold for breaking the rules, or he could have revoked it entirely, sending him to prison, but he didn't. We are so grateful for this!!

Instead he was more like a therapist, and Jared took so long because they were talking. Jared told me of their conversation. He expressed his frustrations with the CPS investigation. Now we're not sure if it's false hope that this man has some inside knowledge. Maybe he was just trying to comfort Jared, but he looked Jared straight in the eyes and said, "Everything is going to be OK."

He said there is much worse out there, and told Jared a story. He said, "One of the most disturbing things that has ever happened to me happened just within this last month. I noticed a bicycle tire rolling down the street all by itself. When I looked around, I saw that a little boy had crashed his bike. I didn't see the little boy's parents anywhere, but summoned a nearby woman to help. The little boy didn't even know where his house was. The woman walked with the child and I walked with the bike through the neighborhood all afternoon knocking on doors until we found the mom." His point to Jared is that there are so many people out there who aren't even paying attention. They are absorbed in their phones and the busyness of their lives to see what's going on around them. He ended his story by saying, "Hope that helps..."

They also talked about Jobs, and what kind of jobs would be right for Jared in his current disposition, my mom, his depression and agoraphobia, ect. Jared wonders if this probation officer missed his calling or has more background in mental health than the average P.O. Either way he came back feeling better.
