Long exposure photography: My favorite library

I have been to many libraries around the world, including the British Library, Oxford Bodelian Library, Cambridge University Library, New York Public Library, Library of Congress, Huntington Library, and others, but my favorite library is the National Library of Australia. Although it may not have as big a collection as the British Library or the Library of Congress, I feel like this library is the most user friendly and welcoming compared to the other ones I have been to. The space is excellent for studying, researching, or just reading a newspaper. The Bookplate cafe also has nice food and coffee and the bookstore has a great range of books and gifts. There are lots of free lectures, book launches, and other cultural activities held there. Each year there are very well-curated exhibitions which are free as well.

I took this photo with my Canon 7D during a night-time photo shoot I organized for my church photography group a few years ago. We had about 12 people participate and after a nice dinner at a Sichuan restaurant, we headed to Mount Ainslie and then the National Library and Parliamentary triangle. We had a lot of fun playing around with our camera settings, setting up our tripods, and chatting.
