Eating in Princeton: Mistral
I had the chance to go to Princeton, New Jersey for work in June and my friend and I decided to try a popular local restaurant called Mistral. The menu is always changing so I should have written about this experience earlier since I can't find the exact names of the dishes we ordered then. We ordered two dishes to share. The first was a ravioli dish. The peas and seafood went well with the pasta. The portion was a bit small for the price we paid though.
I remember the waiter recommended the Japanese style pork chop so we decided to go with this dish as one of the mains. Unfortunately it was a bit dry and the sauce was overly salty. The Japanese tonkatsu I have had in Asia is better.
The dessert we shared was a trifle made with rhubarb and strawberries. It was delicious. Not too heavy or sweet. Perfect way to end the meal.
The service was friendly and attentive. The open kitchen was fun to observe. The decor was rustic.
Wow, what a great day you had
It was nice!

WOW the food looks greta, MY Mumused to make a mean trifle, everyone loved it but me. Never been a fan of it , but she made Queen pudding for me when I visited so I was happy as can be :)
I have never had Queen pudding before. Homemade is the best
I am not sure if its popular out of NZ, its sort of a bread pudding based covered in Jam and then a meringue topping
