Kavak’s cave, the gorge of Canaima - Venezuela

Did you know that to get to the Kavak cave you must take a plane from Canaima? The flight time is approximatly 15 minutes, when taking off the flight you can see the beautiful lagoon of Canaima.
I had the opportunity to live the wonderful experience, and today I want to share it with you.It was a dream for me to visit Canaima, I joined a group that had the entire trip planned,and to my surprise the first day the destination was Kavak, We took a plane of only 5 seats, if you think you would be afraid, believe me if you are passionate about nature, When you see the beautiful landscapes during the flight you will forget the nerves. There are numerous waterfalls before you reach Kavak, the heart speeds up and the window you decide to look at is spectacular, admiring it as a whole is fantastic, the savanna catches you.
The plane landed on a dirt track in a small village where only two families of indigenous people live. Yes, only two families! , in a quiet place surrounded by Tepuyes, very close to the great Auyantepuy. The Indians (Pemones) gave to us a warm welcome, They are very attentive and helpful.
Then we started the guide to the cave, by trails along the river, 30 minutes between vegetation, insectivorous plants, crystal water wells, natural stairs, until we reached the point where we had to submerge to continue.
We were very close, the rocky walls in front of us and the sound of the water that invited us to continue. We were surprised to see a rope on the edge of the wall, where we hold and move forward.
If you dare to swim you can try it, the ropes give you security.
The cold water and the captivating rocky walls make themselves felt when advancing, until suddenly, there it is! The cave ... with a thunderous fall of pure water, directly from the tepuis, 150 meters high, with flashes of light that slip through the impressive rocks.

Because of its shape, it is known as the gorge, its origins go back more than 1800 million years ago in the Precambrian period, geologically this cave is extremely strange, due to the mineral of which it is composed (silica) and the erosive agent that created this rocky gorge.
