Second Part of Chung Chong-You’s Art Works

in #paintings5 years ago (edited)

Although he exiled to North Korea, his family seemed to preserve his artworks for a long time successfully.

In this post, I’d like to introduce Buddha’s portrait at first.
As writing in the previous posting, he was supported by Buddhism during his study in Japan.
So he drew a large size of Buddha, it was hung at the front lobby of the exhibition hall as below.

Next painting is the eagles. This was a large size of the painting.
This kind of painting was not common in Korean traditional paintings.
Especially the eagles seemed rare to be the subject of the traditional paintings.
There could be lots of interpretation on the eagle paintings, in my guess.

Sri Lanka is a buddhist state. I am an Buddhist and I read this article very carefully.
Little did I know that this buddhist information was available in South Korea. This is a very important article.
I copied this for my needs
Thanks @slowwalker
Have a great day.

@slowwalker, These Buddha Buddha painting very remarkable. This is very similar one with my country's Buddha paintings. Dragon's were very close to Chines and Korean tradition. But I never seen before Eagle's painting. It was better created.

어제 포스팅에서 본 산수화와 분위기가 다른 부처님 그림이네요.
불화여서인지 화려한 색이 눈에 띄네요.

I think living in a temple made Chong Chong-You to be influenced by Buddhism and made him to create the Buddha painting, that is really nicely done. But I still have a feeling that he is a soul of freedom who enjoys vast endless nature, mountains, steppes flight of eagles. Beautiful works :)

really amazing paintings not only not common in korean traditional paintings but also in the world i think , thanks for your writing and have a nice day !

It is a very nice eagle painting indeed. Buddhist painting is different from my country.
