A Prince’s Stone Coffin and Sheep
As getting alone the alley at the end of the pagoda area, I saw a stone coffin. It was a huge, its’ owner was a prince in Choson dynasty. If so, it was not so long ago when owner of this coffin passed away. Approximately it seemed 500 years ago, when the prince was dead. I was so curious where the body was. What made them excavate the tomb having such a short history.
The soul of the prince seemed to be disturbed seriously by excavation.
It was sorry to the prince to wake up his eternal sleep.
2 sheep were standing near the stone coffin. It was said that sheep kept the tomb. It was curious why they put sheep to keep the tomb. As sheep was thought as coward animal. I need to study more when it comes to the meaning of sheep.
Near the stone coffin, I found out a round shape stone thing.
According to the explanation, it was a stone case for protecting the placenta of the kings family.
The placenta must be protected at that time in royal family, because it was believed that the placenta of King was a sacred thing.
