Barcelona Trip 2 - Stunning Panorama Views And Incredible Pool: Gran Hotel La Florida

I already mentioned before that I 'escaped' the G20 summit in Hamburg and flew to Barcelona instead.

After spending a few days at the Condes Hotel right in the city center, it was time to leave the hustle and bustle and move on to a much more exclusive location.

Located right on top of the mountain Tibidabo, overlooking the city and next to the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus lies the Gran Hotel La Florida.
The location is very exclusive - on top of the mountain, there's nothing else than the temple, this Hotel and an amusement park. It's a 30 minute drive away from the city center, following twisting roads up to the very top of the Tibidabo mountain.

And then, we arrived: Gran Hotel La Florida right at the top of the mountain!

You can see the top of the Tibidabo from almost everywhere in Barcelona, so it's a very prominent landmark and ofcourse the view from the top is absolutely stunning!

Let me take you on a little tour through the Hotel ...

The entire hotel is held in a very traditional style with wooden floors, elegant interior and stunning decor.
Although I like modern designs too, the style of this Hotel is simply unique and fits perfectly with the monumental building and the exclusive location.

The Rooms

When booking a room at the La Florida Hotel, you can choose between mountain- and city view. Both are gorgeous - the mountain side has all the idyllic green and also the sunsets, while the city side offers some stunning views over barcelona, as well as the temple and amusement park at Tibidabo.
The rooms itself are very spacious, they feature a huge bed, traditional interior, marble bathroom with bath tub and shower and complimentary toiletries from L'Occitane.

The Pool Area

One of the absolute Highlights of this hotel: The pool and terrace area.

The swimming pool is absolutely huge, it starts indoors and goes all the way around the outdoor terrace.
The spa area also includes some exercise machines and a jacuzzi.
Although the water was actually quite cold, the pool was a great refreshment and swimming with such a panorama view makes it even better!

The Terrace

The terrace and restaurant of the Grand Florida Hotel offer incredible panoramic views over the city of Barcelona.
It's incredible how far you can see - all the way across the city, and even the beach!
This is the perfect location to work, relax, enjoy the sun, or have a drink.
The terracce offers several floors with sun loungers, couches, armchairs and dinner tables.
Everything is lit by beautiful string lights, hanging above the parasols.

This definitely won't be the last post featuring the La Florida. We actually sat down to have some dinner on the terrace - but what exactly, you'll have to find out from Mr. Gourmet soon.
If anyone visiting Barcelona is looking for a very private, exclusive Hotel far away from the crowded city, the Gran Florida is a great choice.

Especially the pool, terrace and views are stunning - and don't forget about all the activities you can do on the mountain and in the woods!
