Sydney Children's Hospital
Good Morning Team Australia - from SirKnight at Sydney Children's Hospital.
One of my boys is awaiting surgery after breaking a couple bones - quiet bad, but he will be just fine.
But hanging out in the Oncology (Cancer) Ward whilst we wait makes me realise:
- How lucky our family is not to be dealing with a cancer or other serious disease!
- How lucky we are to have such an amazing hospital specialising in the health of our Australian children and the support of their families!!
This is the second time in 5 years we have had to rely on this amazing institution. And we are eternally grateful.
As a small gesture of thanks, I will provide a link to the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation donation page and remind Team Australia the the end of the financial year is only 2 weeks away.

@sirknight, you are absolutely spot on, I don't think many people realize how blessed they are in this country with the health care in general, not to mention how many great medical discoveries they make here.
And hope he gets well mate :)
Thanks mate, we are blessed.
Wishing a speedy recovery and back to normal ASAP.
Puts a clear perspective on things going to places like that.
All the best to you and your boy mate .
Which your boy .. May He recovered Soon .. : )Best Wishes
There's nothing like spending time in a hospital to bring some perspective and a sense of gratitude. Thanks for reminding me to consider this. All the best with your son. Sorry to hear about the broken bones but glad it's not more serious.
Thanks Jason. SK.
Hey @sirknight nice post and wishing your son a speedy recovery. We are so lucky to live in such a great country with free/affordable health care. Here's what a rattlesnake bite costs in the US via twitter:
That is prohibitively expensive.
Yep got to love the 14 day term too. There's some other shockers floating round the net: $12 000 for three stitches and a panadol etc
OMG - that's insane! Thanks for sharing and welcome to Team Australia @bulleth
Yep, things like that make you realize just how good we have it here in oz ... cheers for the welcome!
For sure mate.
That is an insane amount, I mean....someone is getting rich.
Yep, look at the top line - looks like drug manufacturers taking the biggest slice.
Disclaimer: I am just a bot trying to be helpful.
Hope your son recovers quickly!
