Operation House Rescue-Part 4- Garden Progress
A while back I started a series about the house we're renting and the journey we've been on to make it home.
Today I was looking at the garden and how far it's come. When we moved in it was only the shrubs clinging to life against the wall that were still powering on. Before we moved in the paving had been redone and gravel had been put down but without any plastic to keep it separate from the sand it soon sunk down and was covered by the dune sand that is the yard.

A lot of time has gone into the garden. We didn't have a garden budget and the owners made it clear that anything that happens in the garden is up to us. It's been a long process that I will break up into a couple of posts.
Due to a very serious drought and water rationing, the garden is kept alive by the greywater from the washing machine and the odd rain shower.

Looks like it is coming along splendidly. I went back and checked out the other posts when I found out about @moderndragon , the floors and the tub turned out great as well. Those sanding blocks are a great little device for keeping the level on the material being sanded, and don't weigh near as much as the ones that you affix your own sandpaper too. We use them very often on projects.
Looks like you are doing a good job with the garden.
I lived for a year in Cape Town when I was doing a student placement as a penguin catcher at the University of Cape Town. I have great memories of that time.
