Well I might. Freewrite that is. I usually do so in comments, and then not on any thought out message, but just whatever the post has brought to mind. I am just bursting with odd quotes. It comes from driving long distances, either in a 52tonner, or as a silent chauffeur. One gets a quote and then used it as a contemplative seed for the day or until lunchtime, or the other end, or the next fuel-stop when one can look up a further or related or a cross thought or totally different subject.

Yes, this was a competition to recommend another person's freewrite. If you go to @mariannewest, every day, a prompt goes up and people leaving links to their freewrites in the comments of the post. Then, we all go and read as many as we can and comment and vote if we can. So, the contest is to share a favorite someone else wrote - not our own. But, I think we are going to make it a regular thing... So, next week you know what to do :)

yes, that is right. If you go to the prompt post, you find the links/URLs of many writer's posts. You click on them, read them and recommend one you like. Really, this is more about encouraging engagement with each other and the winner is randomly drawn. If we could, we give each a SBI membership - but we can't.
I think I understand the gist of what you wrote, but, I've no idea what a link, is, still. ¿😅
it is the URL. So, I think you are reading and posting from a phone, right? On mine, when I am on a site, I have an up arrow which allows me to share that url or post to different locations. One choice is copy. that will copy the address. Then I can go an paste it. Like I am going to paste a link to today's freewrite in this message.

OK, I can see that, but I never see that on my post. Right now, typing this, there is nothing like that anywhere, and if you are talking about the box across the top of I pull steemit down, then it is an unreadable string of stuff that is four times longer than the width of my screen and when I try to read it on a touch-screen it just takes me out of steemit back to a blank google box. You say to copy/paste that to - your comment box. I don't get it. It all sounds too complicated.
