♦️Engelhard Details♦️High Silver Premiums ... Why?🤔...

Attention to detail is where my collecting journey has brought me and many others over the past couple years. Much like coin numismatics. There are details that can add significant value to an item. A common and fair question I get often. .

How can 5 ounces of silver be valued at $100 an ounce OR $1000 an ounce?

It comes down to many different factors. I intend on touching upon each of them individually in several follow up articles here on Steemit. This will be the start up article!

The first factor is the DETAILS. Details are often what make something unique and stand out. They just have a type of attraction that is hard to describe. An attraction that grabs your eyeballs and focuses them in. Then follows up with a felling of need and satisfaction all at the same time. Coin collectors will certainly be able to relate....

In the photos shown below. A rare and unique detail demonstrated on a Engelhard 25oz Silver Ingot. The backstory and visual appeal bring this one full circle.

☝️An amazing anomaly prefix on the serial number of this 1st series Engelhard. Here you will notice a partial H,X, and 8. In between is a full E anomaly. This full E has only been seen on one other 25oz Engelhard ingot. The partial H has never been seen before. This type of prefix is actually due to a slip in the rotary die they used to stamp the ingots during production. A rotary die uses a rotary system that allows you to set each number and letter you intend want to stamp. It just so happened that the tired, lazy, or unconcerned employee who stamped this bar. Allowed the rotary die to slip in the front while stamping. This mistake left a subtle imprint of the letters/numbers that were before the intended set serial number.

With an estimated mintage of this 25oz Engelhard series at less than 50 examples to exist. This anomaly exists only on a couple of those examples. Placing this piece in a single digit mintage category. I believe this is a perfect example of extremly attractive details. The kind of details that catapult this ingot to a tier 1 level amongst collectors. With the demand on items like this so strong. That is why pricing is hitting these milestones!

It's great to be getting back into the juicy information pertaining to silver ingots again. I had a lot of commitments going on all at once for a little while there. I wasnt able to put in the best effort. But now I hope to bring the quality content back!!!!

I Really like where your going with this Series and People who are lets say leaning to be Bar Collectors then they will enjoy this I'm Sure @silveringots

Agreed @stokjockey. This type of topic is what helps build and support the market. If this market didn't change my life for the positive then I wouldn't be as passionate about it👍

I don't have the funds to get bars like this, but they're sure fun to look at. Good stuff!

Some are certainly more expensive than others. But there are different levels like anything else. I started buying common poured 10oz Engelhards. Once I had 10 of them is sell them and buy something of a higher caliber. In the end it's just building wealth...

That's a good idea. Because of the sometimes varying nature of our finances, I can't plan ahead like that. I buy a few rounds here and there, but it hasn't been much recently. I'm excited to show off what I got for Christmas. I have to drag that out a bit though. ;)

Buying in any increment is building wealth. Looking forward to seeing what you got for Christmas 🤜🤛
