Bharkor Street of Lhasa part 2
Despite this possibly meaning globalization creeping into what would otherwise be known as a traditional attraction, merchants have not changed their processes and have retained the cultural practices to this very day. Much of the shops here are family owned and it was an amazing experience to interact with the many shop owners here. Some of the shops had been open for decades and were well and truly established by long running families that would pass on the business through generation to generation.
part of this experience really made me realise how much pride and respect there is within the retail industry at Bharkor. Many of shop owners have their pride and respect to maintain as long standing families that have traded in this area for decades and it was a total different experience to shopping in other parts of the worlds. I was able to barter and bargain on items I desired yet we always came to fair price and this can be described as the business relations that bring people together. Bharkor street is most interesting indeed and requires a good amount of time to explore all it has to offer.
