Chapter 2

When I left the restaurant I saw this young women with dark skin, long black hair, she was looking inside a wedding dress shop smiling, I was about to walk past her but stopped to see what she was looking at and it was this beautiful white dress, it was gorgeous

“I think you would look gorgeous in that dress” I told the lady

She looked at me, smiled and she asked “How did you know that I was looking for a dress?”

“By look on your face”

She laughed, a rich, deep laugh and she asked “Do you really think I’ll look gorgeous in it”

“Absolutely” I answered then saw the price tag it was like almost $200,000 “Whoa, price is high”

“I know, it sucks and im getting married on Friday”

“That does suck” I said I held out my hand and said “Names Sarita but you can call me Sara”

She took my hand and said “I’m Gemma, nice to meet you”

“You too”

“Are you in a relationship?”

“No, I’ve never really had time to find someone” I answered “So are you going to get the dress”

“Um…well the thing is I don’t have $200,000 and I won’t have it by Friday” she said looking bummed

“I know the feeling” I said “I could help you find one that’s In your price range”

“Would you?”

“Differently” I answered “if I see one I’ll tell you” at that she hugged me tight

“Thank you, thank you”

“You’re welcome” I said and reached for my card which has my number on it and gave it to her “Here is my number”

“Thank you” she said and gave me hers “Here’s mine”

“Thanks” I said walking away “Catch you later”

“See ya”

I kept walking, looking in wedding dress shops looking for a dress that would suit Gemma, then I saw it the perfect dress for her it wasn’t fancy but still just as beautiful and it was only $1000 I took a picture of it and the price tag and texted to Gemma and said

I couldn’t stop smiling I felt so generous but when I got home my smile faded because now I have to put up with the building manager, he is such a jerk, doesn’t give you the time of day

“Have you got my money?” said a voice behind me. I jumped at the sound

“God, what is with everybody coming out of nowhere today, jeez!”

“Have you”

“No, not yet sorry but I got a new job so I’ll be ab…..”

“I don’t care if you got a new nose job, just get my money this week or I’ll kick you out got it”

“Got it” I said and walked away and I gave his back the finger and I mumbled “Jerk”

I walked to the elevator and stared at the ‘out of order’ pissed I walked up the stairs got to my door and dug through my purse to get my keys out, to unlock the door when my phone rang, scared the shit the out of me, I answered it with a “Yea”

“Sara” said a male voice on the other end “It’s Will, you left your keys at the restaurant”

“Damn it, where are you?”

“Outside the restaurant”

“Ok, I’m coming wait there”

“Ok, but can you hurry, its cold”

“Fine, see you there”

“Ok” he said and hung up

I cursed under my breath, I’m such a dumbass how could I forget my KEYS, god I walked back to the restaurant pissed, when I got there I couldn’t find Will any where

“You finally made it, god you take forever” said Will from behind me

I turn to look at him and my anger dimmed when I saw him, he was dangling my keys from his fingers

“Here you go”

“Thanks”

“Can I drive you home?” he asked “My car is over there” pointing to a red Holden Ute, I wasn’t going to reject a free ride home from a hot guy

“Sure”

“Cool”

We got in and he turned the heater on I sat there in silence for a while until he asked “You ok? You seemed really pissed when you showed up”

“Well, I got harassed by the manager of my apartment building, the elevator was out of order and I forgot my keys and had to walk the way back to get them”

“Why did the manager harass you?”

“Oh because he has no patience, I told him that he will get paid this week and was telling him that I only just got a new job but he was like ‘I don’t care if you got a new nose job, just get me my money’ then he left, I stuck my finger up at his back and called him a jerk”

I could tell that Will was trying to hold back a laugh when he said “Nice”

We arrived at my building before I got out the car Will said “See you Monday afternoon”

“Yup, catch you later” I said and got out and went inside

My apartment is small has two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, longue, laundry and is filled with old fashioned furniture because I’m obsessed with the stuff, don’t judge me, I didn’t even make dinner I was that tired I just when straight to bed and fell into a deep, beautiful sleep

Morning came; I woke at 11.52 am and got ready and was about to text George to ask when I come over, when I got a text from George

Sara can you come in at 4.00pm I won’t be here to let you in but Will, will be ok catch you later

Cool that just answered my question, it was 3.30pm when that text came so I decided to go to the restaurant now just in case I’ll be late……20 minutes later I was there, I knocked on the door twice already and he wasn’t opening the door, why the hell isn’t he bloody opening the door? I was going to knock again when the door opened to show Will with a cheeky grin on his face

“Why the hell weren’t you opening the door?”

All he did was laugh and said “It was open” and he laughed again

I felt the red rising in my face “Oh, anyway can you move so I can get in”

“Sure” he said while moving aside “Go wash your hands, tie your…”

“…hair back and put on an apron, got it” I finished for him and I earn a gorgeous smile

While washing my hands I asked “Was it busy today?”

“Huh…oh yeah, a little” he answered “Hurry up already”

“God, your inpatient”

“Only when it comes to grandmas like you” he said with his cheeky grin

“Ha ha frickity ha”

He laughed “Come on already, jeez”

“I’m coming, god” I said walking out into the kitchen and stood next to him

He looked over at me and asked “Do you remember the things you got teached yesterday?”

“Um…yes I do”

“Good because if you forget your keys then who know what else you forget” he said smiling

I punched him in the arm and said “Shut up, I forget things its normal”

“Who said you were normal?”

“He ha ha” I said with an eye roll

He smiled and said “Ok now you have to grab the colander?”

I had a moment of blankness so I asked embarrassed “What’s a colander again?”

He laughed and said “The bowl with holes in it”

“Oh right yeah now I know what it is thanks” I said and turned away to look for it and realised I don’t know where it is

“Um…where is it?”

“Second cardboard across”

I grabbed the colander and passed it to him and asked “Why are we using a colander today?”

“Don’t know, George wanted me to, for some stupid reason” he answered “He was bummed out when he find out that he couldn’t get a hug till tomorrow”

I laughed and said “Oh must have been the end of the world for him”

Then out of nowhere my phone beeped to tell me I have a message

“Is that your phone?”

“Yea, sorry” I said while checking who it was and to my surprise it was Gemma

Check this out and there was a picture of Gemma in the dress I told her about, she look beautiful

Cool, talk to you later, we should have lunch

Yea, differently, alright see ya

I put my phone away and stood back next to Will smiling

“Why are you so happy?” he asked

And I told him the whole story me meeting Gemma and me helping to find Gemma’s dream dress

“Well that was very generous of you”

“I know and now I might be going to her wedding, isn’t that cool” I said I was so happy nothing could take my happiness away right now but then I got a text from the manager of my apartment block saying

Sorry to inform you but you have failed to pay me money in three weeks so you are evicted from your apartment

I couldn’t breathe, what the hell I’m KICKED out, I have nowhere to go, I’ll have to go live on the streets, just then Will looked over my shoulder to see the message, I closed it too late

“Sara, is something wrong?” he asked and with that I bursted into tears

“E…everything’s w…wrong, I got k…kicked out of m…my apartment, I…I’ve got n…nowhere to g…g…go” I answered then Will wrapped me in a tight hug and I hugged him tighter

“It’s ok, everything’s ok, you’ll be ok”

“No it’s not I’m b…broke and h…homeless”

Then he pulled away and said “Wait here for a second ok I’ll be right back”

I waited there in silence trying to control my tears by breathing slow but it wasn’t working I was still crying when Will came back

“I’ve got good news” he said “You’re coming to stay with me and George”

I stopped breathing for a second, what did he just say “What?”

“You’re coming to stay with me and George” he repeated, I didn’t give a chance to back away, I wrapped my arms around him so tightly that my arms hurt

“Thank you so much” I said and broke away “But is George ok with this”

“That’s who I was on the phone with”

“Thank you so much I…”

“No need” he interrupted “Let’s go get your stuff” and we left
