Hellooooo again!
I was just unwinding after work and found muself on the Patreon account for Andreas Antonopolous.
While I was on there, farting around, I thought
"Hey! It would be a cool idea if there was a patron app based off of blockchain tech -- even with Steem. :D"
And why not?
Practically every content creation application has some sort of tipping or contribution/tipping service.
This is exactly the sort of thing that blockchain tokens are designed to dominate.
What if content creators (authors, musicians, vloggers, journalists) had accounts where their followers automatically contributed an amount of cryptocurrency every month, or every time a creator published content? With curation rewards and such it would even be advantageous with something like the Steemit system for casual users to subscribe to be patrons of content creators.
I know this is similar to bot-voting, the big difference would be that the creators themselves would have easy access to metrics on who was contributing what.
I think it's an cool idea.

Strange that Andreas isn't on Steemit. Any idea why the supply of SBD's are down?

Steem is the perfect blockchain for such an app to exist. It's whole purpose is to give value to content creators we support.

im seriously considering the idea of "spamming" him with tweets along the line of "STEEM is what you need" and hopefullt he notices once out of my every 50 tweets. i think we should do that.
I'm sure he knows about it. If he's not interested it's probably just for his own personal reasons.

I've said this before. I like the Patreon model a lot, it allows people to be rewarded for producing consistently good material and also makes people feel more invested so they read Are Moreno loyal to he people they support. the sites main problem is that there is no community there. It would also be cool to add crypto into the mix or form an app on the steemit blockchain
I see it as a no brainer to have Patreon intergrates SMT.
